I used them last fall for mulching leaves. I thought they were spectacular! They reduced my leaf handling by 70% easy. Leaves were just pulverized.

As for grass, I don't really know. I don't have actual grass, just green weeds that I keep cut. The Gators do fine for me. Someone with a real lawn needs to offer up a true opinion.

I laugh when I read about guys fertilizing, etc. -- actually encouraging the damn stuff to grow.

My yard is just field grass that has been mowed for 60 years, nothing stops it...
No rain for a summer month and I'm still mowing...:ballchain:

I’ve got Gators on my 60” belly mower Kubota, as long as the grass hasn’t gotten too tall, they do a reasonable job, tall grass tends to roll around under the deck and bunch up the chute.

I’m in trouble next week, I intentionally didn’t mow last week as it was dry and there wasn’t enough to worry about, was going to mow Wednesday night, and it rained, and rained most of the day today.

in the morning we are gone for a week, and the grass over the septic is already 12” tall……. The rest of the yard will be similar by next Saturday. FML

I have a friend that does that and I don't understand why.

I only have a half acre of lawn and it takes me over two hours because I have a big hill that drops down to the river. The tractor wouldn't go more than a few feet up that hill and the self propelled push mower won't make it much further so I need to weedwack most of it. There are also some sideways slopes that I couldn't do with my Craftsman in the past so I needed to pushmow those. I can get more of the sideways stuff with the JD now, at least, and I think I can climb a little further up the hill from the bottom now which cuts down a bit on weedwacking that.

It also never stops growing. I can be mowing what seems like a dust bowl and it's still growing just fine. I can temporarily kill sections if I scalp it and it's really dry, but other than that I need to do it every week no matter what.

I'm 4 miles away from and 800' above a river, on top of a mountain. Wet years or dry this stuff just keeps on growing. :ballchain:

My buddy at powdercoat ask me to work on his mower that's been sitting for a few years. He got a new carb for it, I put it on and it was back firing through the carb. I took the cover off and flywheel and the key was good. Turns out the intake valve was stuck open. Runs good now.

Supposedly, you can do quite a bit of work with this thing with a few simple modifications.

My father has a home built wood splitter with a Wisconsin (think a TD? 18hp twin...)

It’s unstoppable, albeit a touch slow.

In other news, I finally got the gauges in the Massey 35 Utility. Lol, junk. They both read absurdly low.

I did slap the flail mower on so I can regain control of my field. Then noticed front left tire pissing air out the sidewall. Can’t win...

aaand apparently I didn’t snap a pic with the flail. I’m losing it...

Started priming my 3205 tins with Van Sickle etching primer. Atwood's doesn't have a shaker so it had an inch of solids sunk in the bottom. Took forever to blend. Last weekend I built a water trap for my air lines. An old trans cooler to cool the vapor and a keg to act as a water trap after the cooler. I had a box fan blowing on the cooler. It kept my air dry today and I did spray the bottoms of the tins.

I set up my wellhouse as a paint booth with tarps on the walls and floor, chicken house fan pulling air thru the roll-up door with a screen tacked over the walk-thru door opening to keep trash out of it. My little 23 year old HF touch up gun worked perfectly.
