I believe there is no 6MT on the trail edition, which is a deal breaker for me.

We should probably just start the 2nd Gen to 4th GenEV MT swap thread now to save time…

If the current Trail Edition pricing is to go off by, I'm kind of going "meh".

If we compare a TRD OR w/ the TRD lift kit on the Toyota build site to the 2021 trail edition prices, (using the Tech package based items that seem to be standard on all V6 4x4 DCSB), we arrive at them being 40,764 vs 37,900.

You could throw another 2K for dealer installation of the TRD lift kit if toyota doesn't start offering it from the factory for 2022. Even then that means with the OR you get an inch of clearance over the Trail edition, and more electronic aids for offroading than the SR5 Trail.

Is that difference worth the 2-4k? That's up to you. I hope it ends up in the 35k range but looking at current SR prices I doubt it.

I don’t believe so. I think they made the trail edition with price in mind to fall under the off-road in price

It's surprising to me that Toyota is doubling down on the Trail Edition bed boxes. Considering the negative reaction on this forum and elsewhere, I would have thought that the boxes would have been a one-year offering. Toyota's focus groups must be an entirely different fan base from what we have here.

No, it's based on the SR5, so it won't get any options that truck doesn't get.

aside from crawl control what does the 22 trail lack?
