I can sympathize. One of the broken things I fixed yesterday was a two inch thick linkage pin. It links the top and bottom feed roll for our debarker together. Only way to it was crawling inside the machine, which has nine different gear lube lines constantly slinging gear lube on the sprockets and assorted moving parts. I threw out the shirt I wore... and I washed my beard at least three times last night to try and get the smell out from under my nose.

 

I had to do something similar. I had to bust a rear end up.

I'm allowed atleast one bad joke.

 

I fully expected that when I was typing my post. Unfortunately words failed me and I couldn't make it "Kevin proof"

 

Atleast the pinion gear shaft was synchronized.

 

Old gear oil is the worst. It's the ass of the lubricant world

 

Fun fact, in 100 degree inside temp Vactra way lubricant smells like rotten feet.

 

What does KY lube smells like?
