Beats getting the trd pro grill which is 500+ bucks and has that ugly rectangular plastic piece beneath it for the camera sensor.

Yep looks great. Just like mine. As I stated on my YouTube channel, Tacogolf..... I can care less about the trd pro grill for the price it’s not worth it and I hate that plastic piece below the Toyota. Takes away from the grill. Our way looks way better, and it blends in with the rest of the grill. Toyota did a really good job with the grill on the 20’s and 21’s. The no chrome effect looks much better. So no need to do the trd pro grill. This is a great option. And much cheaper too.

I was in a Toyota dealership this week picking up a RAV for my daughter. (new RAVs are awesome). They had a Nightshade. Grill looked much better in person vs internet.

Love the 20/21 Sport/OR grill. I want to paint it black but so far not enough to actually do it. The grill looks great as is. Clean.

We can only wish that the 2022 Tacoma TRD will have an option for a blacked out grille (particularly the center emblem). Maybe Toyota is listening. If it became available as a part, I would buy one.

What did you tint the sensor with? Have you had any issues?

I don’t have my truck yet - should arrive next month, but I want to go this route rather than get a Pro grille. I’m trying to determine what tint works best.

Agree I like the pro grill before they put the rectangular plastic piece for the sensor. Takes away from the grill and doesn’t look good IMO.

This route it looks great with the OEM factory grill. Go to my YouTube channel Tacogolf and subscribe. I have all my mods and advise posted there along with the emblem tint as well.

You’ll be able to see how easy it was and how good it really looks.

    resurrecting and old thread....
what did you use for paint? Primer first? Sand/scuff prior to painting? How is it holding up?
What did you use for tint on the center emblem?
