Where’d you order from and how did you attach the bars? Any load stress placed on the tracks mounting the aluminum directly?

The load is spread out over the 3" width of the rail, I think that's more than enough to handle almost anything. The bars themselves are heavy for their size. I drilled two 5/16 holes through each 8020 bar to mount to the RSI rails. I do have the 8020 extrusions with the T-slot down, so the top is perfectly flat. I did this because I didn't actually need the T-slot and I added rubberized plastic inserts to the T-slot so that the contact between the RSI rail and the 8020 bar is on the insert and not completely metal to metal.

I ordered the following from 8020.net

    SKU: 2110
    15 Series Standard T-Slot Cover
    SKU: 3075-Black-FB - Cut to 42.5 inches
    3.00” X .75” Smooth Surface T-Slotted Profile - Two Adjacent Open T-Slots

I bought the hardware from Amazon
    M8 square nuts
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RNZSQ6H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8
    M8-1.25x30mm cap screws
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZF68XHB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8

I had some lock washers on hand and would recommend using them or Loctite.

The biggest downside is 8020 is very slow for custom items. The anodized items are anodized after being custom cut so the lead time is about a month maybe a bit longer.

    Yes, that's not a problem.

Does the timeline only affect orders placed now or is this also the case for orders already placed? I placed an order for a EVOa 5ft in mid April. Estimates at that time were June.

I also ordered a table with the cap. Are there different timelines for the table as well?

These dates are for orders placed today. We have seen a few delays with caps coming in recently due to the numerous US ports backlog and longer than average US Customs clearance processing times. Tables are still a very hot commodity and RSI is working on increasing production on those to meet current demand.

Deposit placed on a 5’ EVOa. My last truck had a SnugTop which I wasn’t happy with so was really happy when I found this option. I live in AZ where rain and snow aren’t as big of a deal so this purchase is mainly to help keep the dust out the bed area. The softopper I have now lets in way too much dust and doesn’t allow for secured storage of gear so I’m really looking forward to this upgrade.

My personal experience going from a soft topper to the smart cap, it's a no brainer.
The smart cap is 1000x better than the caps ive seen.

Yeah the softopper was more of a temporary solution until I could afford something like this. It has honestly been a great topper for the money but I understood it’s limitations when I bought it. Only thing I would do other than this is replace the whole bed and I’m just not there yet, maybe in a few years down the road.

Not at this time. The next Evo A we get through the shop, we'll see what we can figure out.

Sorry if this has already been talked about, but do these stay fairly right after a lot of miles on rough roads?

I'm intrigued, but worried that the connection points will gradually loosen/rattle apart after miles and miles of washboard roads.

I haven’t driven washboard roads yet but plenty of rough dirt roads and so far mine is ok. Probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to use removable loctite though when assembling.

Seems like I am receiving a covid price increase every week for every manufacturer and now its Front Runner's turn. The Front Runner Load Bar set for smart caps is now $260 plus shipping. The good news is 40 mm feet are back in stock.

I held off on ordering the table until I see more reviews. I hope it’s awesome though. I do really want one since it will solve the dumb table problem everyone has when going camping. Need the table first when unpacking and last when packing up but it always gets packed underneath everything because it’s flat.

The RSI tables have been in incredibly high demand and lead times are definitely a bit long on these. There are tables coming in pretty much every month so we're slowly chipping away at backorders.

Would you sell a foot set by itself and ship to Canada?
