Missed opportunity.
The AC LB off road is also a missed opportunity. I have no idea why Toyota decided a sport aclb should be the only way to get a manual 6 foot bed

 

I like the AC a lot, even in AT. I wonder how much lighter it is than the DC

 

After I do a lift and rear locker, the only thing an OR has over me is A TRAC up front.
However I think being able to lock in 2hi would be way more useful for what I do than a-trac up front.

I don’t regret my choice. The 6 foot bed is nice

 

So I didn’t know that the chip shortage was affecting the Tacoma’s as well. Prices on the new ones are higher than normal and the used Tacoma’s are higher than normal in value.

 

There are a lot of stories going around the forum of guys getting more than they paid for their trucks a few years ago.

Stop tempting me. 40% HP gain? Tacoma Beast only got like 23% in his Mad Max war wagon with Magnusson. I'm going way less aggressive tread, lighter tires, less gear...

278x.4 = 111.2 HP gain to 389.2 HP.

Makes me wish I would have gone AC to drop even more weight.

They say they got +52 but didn't dyno so, who knows.

Dream Math: 389 + 52 = 441 HP... Plus a tune...

I’ve wanted a supercharger for a while. The maggy is ok but procharger is way easier install. It won’t have quite the torque of a maggy but should be better. I kinda rev this truck out too. Isn’t uncommon for me to shift at 3k-3500 casually driving.

 

I bet with a Y pipe and cat back it could be higher than 40%. Stock trucks gain like 10 whp from either mod.

They charge more to let you tune it? Is that because it's less labor? They just give you the parts and you have to tune it yourself with VF Tune?

 

The complete kit has an off the shelf VF tune file that comes with it.

the tuner kit has no tuning included. You’d have to get vf yourself and tune it yourself or have someone do it.

 

I've got a VF cable... about to get a license too.
