    Undies. Always undies. :notsure:
Always makes me wonder what series of events occurred that left the owner with the only option to shed them and leave them behind?

Does the beach count? Wood insert wrapped in steel with a steel rod connected to it. It was sticking about two feet up out of the sand. Dungeness Spit, Washington.

Looks like two dudes, a chick, and a campfire. Did that area smell like armpits and patchouli?

    I have no idea.
I find a lot of stuff while I'm out and if its trash I usually try to pack it out, some odd find I'll pocket it for my "magical box of wonders" that I have kept over the years... random nuts and bolts, old beer cans, that kinda thing... I leave the undies. Even if I have an industrial strength garbage bag I just can't bring myself to pack some stranger's undies back to the trailhead

It's all they had to wipe their butt after #2. Sorry. That's it though. When you see underwear on a trail, watch your step and keep the dog heeled.

Probably alcohol, drugs and sex. I’ve lost a few items of clothing in the great outdoors. But I was young and stupid. Wouldn’t change a thing.

I don't know what they were doing before to work up to needing to crap but the underwear is to wipe their butts. just because underwear is in a pile doesn't mean they were all squatting in a circle. They just had a spot to go in. It's common with camping

That’s for pulling spikes. Track maintenance sometimes requires replacing the ties.
