I think I'll be a little irked if they don't push out an update.

So far my cable is doing ok since I stopped contortioning it around my steering wheel.

Figures.. Just bought one of the old MXT275s a few weeks ago. I figured I would make due with the 275 until a 575 comes out. Would be nice if we could upgrade our 275s.

I'm parting out a 4x4 3rd Gen 4runner if any 1st Gen tacos are looking for any drivetrain parts. Have everything to add 4x4 to a 2wd.

If you have a few pics I would appreciate it. My dad has a 3rd gen 4Runner (the Toyota that got me interested in Toyotas) and he is trying to freshen it up.

Said he's definitely interested in left headlight. His has been cracked as long as I can remember.

I'm thinking about inviting the Paron repeater owner to meet up with the Little Rock Rigs and Coffee crew when we line up at the Paron Community Center for a trail ride to get a demo and help members with their radios. Too soon for this month. Maybe next month or whenever we can get on his schedule. I'm a member of Arkansas Repeaters

Headlights are spoken for. I'll let you know if it falls through.

Transmission went out. During the replacement the frame was found to be rotten. Motor is currently being swapped into another 4r that has a blown headgasket.

Here's a FB post on the Paron repeater owner's take on the new split-tone model.

Oh I’m gonna be mad if they make me buy a whole new one in order to get split-tone
This guy claims he’s never seen a split tone GMRS repeater? And he’s a repeater owner? He must have not looked very hard...

    Yeah.
The USB ports are there for charging phones/tablets, not for charging the radio. No batteries needed for the 115 or 275. I got the deal that came with 2 FRS hand-held radios that do require batteries.

From what I can tell, if your radio has a USB-C charging port, you have the new version. The one with a USB-A port is the old one.

The description says 6 AAA batteries required.

    Yeah.
I don't think that description is correct. If it is the bundle with 2 handhelds, you need 3 batteries per handheld. None are needed for just the 275. Nothing in the owner's manual about batteries.

Upon further investigation I have found that is a typo on the product description.

Does the length of the antenna cable affect signal strength? The cables I'm finding are 6 meters long. I don't need one that long for where I'm planning on mounting the antenna (ditch light bracket). If not, then I'll just coil the excess under the dash somewhere.

    Yeah.
I don't think so. I mounted mine in the ditch light location and just coiled the cable behind the kick panel.
