Hey, on vacation in the mountains, cell service spotty.
The owner reached out and wanted to personally deliver them to my house to speed up getting them to me which I thought was very cool.
Owner/shop seem like good folks that got overwhelmed with orders and then got hit with supply issues. I get it and understand. My only complaint was that they could of communicated these problems better.
I’ll update once I get them installed.

picked up the sliders today. unfortunately powder coating was skipped (I added it on 4 weeks after my order). oh well, just excited to have them!

@AStinkyBumb let me know how your process turns out? I may attempt doing what your doing.

Edit; just got done opening up the whole shipment and no hardware was included either... bummer. (edit2; hardware shipping separately via USPS, hasn't been shipped yet but just got a tracking #)

So just be prepared for a 14 week wait for sliders.

I hit mine with alcohol to get all the pickling off the metal. Then hit it with a coat of primer then 2 coats of black paint. I think I did semi gloss so it wasn't flat but had some shine to it. it turned out pretty nice actually, very even and its going to be easy to touch up when they get beat up. I just took some photos tonight as I just got them installed. Passenger side went on super easy, Driver side getting the slat bolt into the frame was a PITA, I ended up using a screwdriver and shoved it through the second hole in the frame to balance the slat on then aligned it with needle nose pliers and got lucky on the 3rd try with the bolt seating enough to start the threads. Also bending the brake lines around the bolts so they dont rub or get pinched wasnt great but doable. I have read thats a problem with all sliders though not these specifically. They are snug against the cab pinch welds in the front so any major hit there will probably bend my cab pinch welds behind the front fenders. Also the 2nd mounting leg the 90 deg bends are about half an inch below the frame so they stick down. I can see this catching stuff, dragging weeds, potentially being a pain. Maybe if I take the sliders off to re coat them in the future I will cut this part off (last pic).

Awesome thank you, looks like they turned out great. I'll probably end up going this route... cheers.

Yeah I went the route of rattle can because I figured they are going to take a beating so rattle can would be easiest to touch up and the cheapest. Definitely doesnt look as good as powder coating in person but it gets the job done.

I think I'm gonna go with primer and this rest-oleum textured black rattle can (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Ol...lack-Protective-Spray-Paint-7220830/100121155). The sliders, in theory, will be used as steps so hopefully this will grip enough.

I used stuff like that on my bed rack its pretty nice, its not slippery when wet when I have to climb up there to and move around. I grabbed some 1.5" grip tape to put on the top of my bump out to keep me from slipping too much.

question, I do not know materials like some of you so whats the difference between HREW, and the DOM 120/180? I don't go rock crawling, would mainly be protection against trees hitting the cab if I slide into them. Plus these things probably would have protected my truck from the corrolla that sideswiped me yesterday

I watched this video before looking at sliders and knew in the back of my mind my truck would never see rock crawling (DCLB) and I dont offroad much but when I do I am always freaking out about my oil pan and my door sills. I went with HREW because of this video because I didnt plan to do anything crazy with mine other than exactly what you listed. Completely a decision for you to make but that was the reasoning I went the route I did.

Edit: TL;DR DOM is stronger than HREW, so it usually comes with a higher price tag. However HREW is enough for every day mall crawlin. DOM is usually suggested when you get into bigger and badder stuff.

Cleaned them with this abrasive pad and some diluted simple green
    20210602_200442.jpg
Followed by 400 grit wet sand

Close up of wet sand, hard to get under dimple plates

Tomorrow I'll clean them with isopropyl and then hit em with primer if I have time. Hoping to have then done by Sunday.

Painted up! I didn't do the best job with spray paint but it's good enough, now I gotta find the motivation to install them lol

    Install was pretty smooth!
Dual cab long bed; the black box on the driver's side has one bolt hole covered by the sliders, drilling through would hit a weld so I didn't bother. Passenger side had a similar issue with the thing you have to take off.
