    FWIW , the airbag diagram in the manual shows the sensor wire for those bags is routed to that location , but as pointed out above there is nothing under the box but a bolt

    No doubt that vehicles equipped with SRS airbags will have components under that area but this box has NOTHING to do with those components- it just states SRS for ppl to know it has them in case they are not deployed and they try to extracate you from the vehicle. It just lets them know there are components in that location.

    My truck is not here, cant look right now, but if I recall, mine are much smaller than the one pictured with a bolt under it and say "srs" on them. My truck is a 2011.

    I wouldnt trust them 100%. lol

    Best way to tell for sure is to look under the headliner there.

    In that manual that was posted up it even said it was for the handles.
