I like the fold up aspect, great job. Reminds me of the one @rnish made for his truck I saw in person. I'll most likely copy yours and his design of this style. It will keep it simple and make access and cleaning under there easier.

Really nice work here. Once this is assembled, can it be removed as one piece?

Haven’t read through the entire thread yet, but I’m already feeling a little inadequate. This is a work truck, though

had to cut out some angled reliefs for easier access, and add a spot to hang my toolbelt:

Mounting brackets to use the headrest weldnuts. Bent an extra 90° in a Simpson Strongtie corner bracket, and cut a slot in the plywood to slide it through. Measure twice, cut once. (The first set of holes drilled didn’t quite line up; in case you were wondering why I only used 3 screws)

    Gotta have a trash receptacle:

Cleaned it up. I'll paint the trim when I do my A pillar pods.

WOW! That's slick! I wouldn't paint anything. I think it goes great. Defines the area. I like this idea a lot. I think @rnish did his in wood. I like both applications but I might be more inclined to go with the metal. I would have to consider those pointed corners though. With the pup jumping up in there I don't want to make it unsafe. Plus with me reaching around I want to be safe too. LOL

I have some sub-flooring from an old trailer project. It's the 4' wide cut off ends. I think I have 4 of them. I wonder if I could use that and buy a piano hinge or hinges, and have it so it not only folds up but also folds in half.

I could possibly use L channel attached to one half and where it rests on the other half, that will act as a support.

(Edited to add a better pic)

    upload_2021-6-2_14-29-33.jpg

Red indicates aluminium or steel L angle
    Green is wood
    Blue is Piano Hinges
    Grey is existing vehicle section
