    Hello all,

I've lurked here while scoping out my recent purchase. Just picked up a 2018 TRDOR in Cement a couple weeks ago after selling my gen1 with only 94k miles on it (I knew what I had). Good to know about this forum; I've enjoyed reading about all the possibilities.

I'm hailing out of the Charlottesville area.

I did not realize there were so many of you on here from the Charlottesville area. Although I didn't post much, and it had been a long time since I was last on here.

I'll be at C&C this Saturday for a bit checking out the other cars.

My DH gifted me with a 2019 Tacoma SR5 double cab 4X4 the first of the month. I went from a Tundra (with 20" wheels) and this one, while not nearly as powerful, cruises nicely on far less fuel! We are north of Charlottesville, closer to the Greene Co. line.

Has anyone in the area done the accumulator delete on their manual truck?

Can you describe the difference in feeling? Some days I think the shifting isn't so bad, and other days it pisses me off. I really want to learn more/try someone's to see if it fixes what I experience.

By itself it's not some earth-shattering improvement. The result forces you to shove clutch pedal nearly to the floor every time for a smoother shift, but at least it's more predictable. Shifting would be much better if the throttle hang could be reduced, such as via stifling (or deleting) the EGR valve with a copper pipe cap.

The procedure ought to be paired with drivetrain stiffening, such as better hanger shackles, retorquing u-bolts, full leafpack, axle wrap redux...

Wow. Have you done all of this to your rig? I was considering the acc delete and changing out the fluid..

Haven't done it all yet. Slowly but surely...

I used the Redline MT oil and I'm disappointed. It loses lubricity on long road trips and makes shifting extremely difficult.

I really appreciate you giving me that info. I was considering switching to that, but it sounds like it is not the answer.
