Liking all these recent high-toppers.

 

Finally found a short bed shell with windoors! It was worth the 9 hour round trip to get it. Already have some reasonable quotes to paint match so I will be going that route.

 

To all the last ten posts or so with newly found shells I'm happy for you, but.......

If you are going to wrap or get it paint matched why not at least think about a shade close to your color (lighter or darker) but not your color. Contrast looks so much better! Also that's what this thread is about.

Post #1232 is why I want colour matched, I couldn't find the original post but I found my post quoting the inspiration for colour match. Looks fantastic on Voodoo Blue.

I bought mine new even though it wasn’t a color match, it helps it still look like a truck. This is my third taco and only one had a matching topper!

 

I'm thinking of going the same route, do you have a pic with the wrap?

Twenty bucks worth of masking tape, paper, and rattle cans... and about four hours, tops... and you can put the rest of your money back in your pocket.

 

I doubt it would come out good. Dont forget the prep work. Would also not need a place to take the shell off. If I did the spray cans it would come out looking bad.

 

Have you ever painted a model you built? Or a lawn chair? Sure, the more practice a person has, and having the ability to learn from that experience, is a bonus... but how do you think you learn if you never do something?

And the time to prep was included. A light wet sand might take an hour.

A lot of people here will spend a huge chunk of money on parts and install the parts themselves. How is this any different?

I found this full-featured Snugtop Cab-High with only 4k miles from new. Magnetic Metallic Grey.
Yakima Baseline Racks for canopy and truck were included. Over 3k in receipts, I picked up for $900
Considering the colors (grille, tail-lights, wheels) already on the truck, the canopy color is accent. It's staying the color it is.
