Met @PapaRee for the tune Saturday. Great guy and big thanks for revitalizing my taco.

Initial 3 day feedback, truck feels 500lbs lighter with another 50hp from a stop. I love the acceleration and enjoy driving the truck so much more now.

Feels faster with my 3" lift and 34's now with the tune than when I was completely stock. I can easily feel my truck slowed when i first slapped on the 34's, now its like the big wheels arent even there.

    Reg Aggressive 87 tune.

Does this tune work with cruise control in terms of fixing the gear hunting? I've noticed on the highway, it still hunts for gears like a mad dog when going up small inclines but I'm wondering if it's because It doesn't work on cruise control...

Will say it still hunts when I'm modulating the pedal though but it doesn't seem to be as much

    My truck is MT.
On a small incline, the speed seems to be pretty constant with CC, it loses a cpl KM/hr depending how steep the hill but no longer need to downshift.
One way to keep the speed steady, for me, is to feather a bit the gas.
Not sure 8f that works with AT but try it next time.

this wouldn't work on cruise control since your foot is off the pedal right?

When I modulate the pedal, I've noticed this works. However, I do find myself needing to hit the gas harder at some point so I don't stop to a halt. Then it starts hunting again

Yes, it improves Cruise Control. It is much better than stock. Drops down to 5th on inclines and back to 6th after.

The only problem I find is above 75mph in Cruise Control, it still drops to 4th on steep inclines.

This isn't my case at all, it hunts like crazy even on slight inclines. Not as much when modulating the pedal myself but could be becuase I'm dropping speed and building again (which is where it'll hunt). Would you like to DM and I can send you a video?

Are you using adaptive cruise control? If so, those maps are unchanged from stock as tuners do not have access to those maps in the vF software. If you press and hold cruise control you get normal cruise which does use the new shift maps.

Damn that’s the pro tip right there

I will start telling people that since I don’t have it in my truck I didn’t know there was a short cut to turn it off thank you

Yes. Regular Cruise is changed. Adaptive Cruise is not. It is still like stock.

Oh God.... I thought I was nuts that cruise control still hasn't felt great in hundreds of miles of using it. And THAT would be why, lol! Maybe it is just me, but I'd venture to guess that 90% of people assume that when they hear CC is improved, that they don't realize that adaptive is not. Personally, I've never bothered to go the extra step of holding the button to have a "worse" feature, so I have never even tried regular CC.

    Thanks for the info.

When you think about it, giving access to adaptive cruise settings is a fairly big liability with the way the radar functions and collision avoidance, etc... Seems like vF is being very careful to make sure everything is well understood before granting access to those maps. Or vF is still trying to figure it out.

Regardless, no one can alter shift behavior of adaptive cruise in vF to my knowledge.

I would settle for someone to be able to tweak it to not hit the brakes every time someone changes lanes in front of me, which then sets off a chain reaction of "oh shit" braking behind me. Never been a fan of ACC.

Yes this is what I usually tell my clients is that it’s to large of a liability because if we adjust it and it goes rogue and slams into a car that’s no good and a legal nightmare.

I always give them a heads up that anytime the radar gets involved it will be old style shifting.

so happy to hear a solution to turn it off.

100% happy I have a 2017 and don’t need to worry about it.

Even if we could alter it I’m not sure I would want to. That’s a can of worms where the juice isn’t worth the squeeze

I have one quick question. So when I buy the tune I send what size tires I'm running to fix the speedometer if I have bigger tires than stock. Correct?
So what if I have 265/70/17 for my winter tires but 285/70/17 for summer tires.

No tune can fix the speedometer. Sorry.
Tire size settings do not do much of anything.
