I’m using Lucas red n tacky for the ball joint and bushings. Bushings are quiet.

Glad you all found a solution. I called yesterday to check on my order that was supposed to ship last week for full arms when I ordered over a month ago we texted back and forth and was guaranteed delivery by the 20th so I had time to get them installed and re aligned before our Yellowstone trip. The website at that time said 18-20 day lead time. So I knew I had to wait. But yesterday was greeted with oh that lead time changed to 35 days after you ordered and will probably be longer now. Needless to say not impressed with jba. After I sent them a screen shot they said they will ship out yesterday with the classic boots so we can get it done for our trip and just send the new boots when they get them in 3-4 weeks but I’m guessing that was smoke as well because no tracking.

Just an update spoke with Charles at jba and still haven’t shipped said they will go out next week. Went ahead and cancelled my order. I understand shipping issues arise but don’t lie to me and don’t try and make me feel like the bad guy for calling you out on your bs. Luckily a vendor local to me has the spc’s in stock and I can go grab them in the morning.

So they didn’t send me the washers they said they were going to. What a surprise.

@MalinoisDad so I think those 3 washers I put on was too much so when I went over a bump the ball joint was able to move due to the rubber washers even though I got the nut tight on the ball joint. I’m gonna take put the boot JBA sent me with 2 washers like you and see if that works.

I got the 5/8” red hose washers and used 2 on each side. Might have been able to use 1 on each side but it worked pretty good.

Installed mine over the weekend. One had a tear/cut of about 1/8" long on the top and thought it was so it can fit onto the ball joint and didn't think of anything was wrong with it. I installed and moved on to the other side. That's when I noticed the second one didn't have a tear/cut on and proceed to install. I lowered the truck back on the ground I added grease and the one with the cut on spilled a lot of grease as the other only enough to know it was full. I went on to run some errands on several trips and was checking every time I got back home only to wipe off grease that came out from that side. The other side was fine. I hope the new boots come soon so I don't have to refill every time I go on a drive.

Well, poop. Sitting on my OME 881s/5100s ready to build but don't know what to do now. TW seems hot on the JBA ucas but that's looking like a big wait and a bit of a train wreck :(

    I'm open to suggestions.

JBA has started to ship out the correct pleated poly boots that have been delayed for so long. They’re fulfilling oldest warranty claims first. I filed my claim in February and I got the new boots last week. Haven’t installed them yet because their classic poly boots I installed a few weeks back are still doing great. The rubber boots my JBAs shipped with started to crack within weeks, just like numerous others have had happen to them.

Long story long, if you have JBAs with the rubber boots on them that are known to crack, just for simplicity sake I would swap out those boots to the new pleated poly style and then install the arms onto your truck. Otherwise there’s a pretty high likelihood you’ll be swapping the rubber boots out weeks or months later anyways. That said, it’s not a huge production but it is avoidable.

Thanks MalinoisDad! Guess I'll order them with the classic boot and hope they survive.

Hey guys, mine looked like this. I sent JBA (1 year warranty) an email, an sent me this. I realize this is a 1st gen and I'm a 2nd but reach out and they will replace it.

"The cracking is a manufacturing defect on some batches of the pleated rubber ball joint dust boots. We`ve dropped that manufacturer and invested heavily in an all-new pleated poly boot that we will send you free of charge. We`ll process a warranty claim for you and start a warranty replacement order to ship the new pleated poly boots to you as they become available."

I am looking to put on some aftermarket UCAs and I like the look and cost of these. I have a Fabtech 6" drop bracket and full length King coilovers. I see that you have the same setup. Did you go with the stock geometry or high caster? Also does anyone know if i place an order today, will the arms have the newest version of the boots?
