The stock hub uses a unit bearing and without changing it completely to a stub shaft style there is no point for a custom spindle

What about a hub/spindle that is capable of handling a load larger than the D44 options we currently have

cause my D44 hubs are not gonna survive my 40’s

D44 hubs and 37’s on this rig and he’s been abusing the truck for years. They’ll be plenty strong for you.

Correct 40’s will destroy the D44 bearings. What’s needed is a 934 micro stub (ProAm makes the big boy ones for the Dakar Trucks) but again the problem is the hubs and spindles will cost more than most are willing to pay... that’s just what it takes to run 40’s, 4x4 and HP

    Ooo
    That’s some good input
Thank you. Maybe that’s something I can further research and circle back to with you later on

James’s truck is badass but is constantly getting repaired rebuilt redone because it breaks so often
I love his truck and love Kevin’s J arm kit
But the D44’s are def a failure point

I wonder if there is a way to run a spindle with a super duty unit bearing or even a spider trax unit bearing. I’m sure getting a cv axle to work would be the tougher part there but that would greatly increase strength I would think.

I saw a guy working on that in a different forum.

It can definitely be done but then you have an lug wheel pattern and even so if you are running 40’s the wheel bearings won’t survive

Truth and those spidertrax unit bearings are too expensive to continuously swap out.

This 4.0L should have come with 8psi of boost and at least 4.56 gears from the factory. It’s a game changer. I came from a 2007 2wd naturally aspirated Tacoma before this one and my friends used to ask if getting the new one with the supercharger was worth it. Hands down, every time I can’t imagine this truck without it. Driving my buddies NA taco from time to time helping him tune only makes me so much happier with my truck lol. But he also needs a dd and to leave his truck with me for 6 months with a blank check so I can actually help him vs show up for a day of wheeling and ask what we can do. Nothing if you can’t leave it for more than a day and a half.

Back on trac, boosted tacos for the win
