Is Manitou Lui resurfaced and started responding? Those Tacoma and 4runner bodies are sure nice. I saw he was MIA at the start of the year with some trouble getting any response....

I bit the bullet and bought a better bumper for my game changer..... I couldn't stand to let an identified short coming be....

I also replaced all my winch line and triple checked them and the radio as well. In New Mexico at scale Nationals I was running a spektrum radio for my class 1 and it forgot the winch settings and had some firmware issue. Both class 1 and 2 will have fully functioning winches with plenty of line as well for rocas rojo...

I am hoping all my orders for parts arrive early in the week and give me time to bolt/glue them on and run the rig at least once as it will be for tech....

Well I for one think the honcho is the coolest version of the scx10... I hope the three has a honcho soon.....

In other news I attended rocas rojo here locally this weekend. National events are a ton of fun if you have not been to one. I judged a bunch and volunteered too but driving the comp courses was a lot of fun as was the scale adventure and ultra4 race. It has been super refreshing to socialize and get out and see people and share a common interest.

My truck did really well but I was feeling the heat and should have taken a break instead of finishing a couple courses in a rush.

No for less than 50 you might as well get the rtr replaced. Have you looked on Facebook groups for second hand though? Worthwhile replacements start around 100 imo. But someone here will tell you a modded flysky will do it all for cheap I'm sure

You can also check out his new website. Ther are body kits and chassis kit but you still need to get your own wheels/tires, electronics and accessories yourself.

My buddy and I out crawling this weekend, testing out my new gspeed 6x6 build. Needs some shock tuning, but pretty stoked on the performance.

At the Rocas Rojo event early in June they ran a class 0 comp course and those trucks look super cool. It's all tiny tire super realiastic. The rules reward for scale realism and the courses are built to be driveable without killing nice rigs.... Crawlers get scratched though and this is supposed to be a stock vehicle class. Afterwards I set out building an scx10ii into a truck within the ruleset.
    PXL_20210623_195551989.jpg
While it only really lacks an interior to really be within the rules and scoring well for points within the ruleset, it feels dirty and not within the spirit. No doors or hood that open, portal axles, cheater foam interior and linked instead of leaf springs and a bed of .020 thick styrene..... It's a class 1 cheater body and would do well on a class 1 chassis but it's isn't what I intended for a class 0 build. I think it's mainly the portals. I may look to trading for some scx10 vp instead.....but the itch was barely scratched

So I got to thinking.... I had the rc4wd 4runner bodyset and also picked up the engine bay recently. Then a friend of mine mentioned he didn't like his marlin tf2 and had barely ever driven it. He didn't like it compared to an axial.....
So now I have a full leaf spring truck to put the 4runner on. He gave me a great deal on it and im excited for some motivation to build the 4runner that I have had since they announced them.

Now to the downsides... The guy is a smoker and the rig is pretty smelly... I hit it with some rc chassis and body wash tonight and at least knocked the top layer of film off it all. I ran it and it sounds smooth. It has some upgrades but it really may be driven a couple times.... I'll get some pictures of it tomorrow in the sun

I'm happy with this deal after the guy brought over the missing inner rings for the beadlocks this evening. He found them inside a set of pitbull growlers and ended up giving me them as well....

I feel like I should go over this once more with a fine tooth comb though, maybe open some axles and regrease..... Either way after a second wash of it has even less of a cigarette smell. I think with a few runs and days in the sun it will air off and be good to go.... Now I need to get to working on the 4runner body. Here are the wheels and tires that will go with that body as well as one of the truck... Standard Marvin Crawler with a terrible light kit and decent top lightbar and a decentwinch... I did add some warn hubs to the front. I also already have some powershift lights for it....OG warm glow or modern led?????
