Hey... I see, King bling, nice lowers, aftermarket uppers with a slight patina, and soon to be reinforced knuckles. Not bad at all my friend!

Looks like Woot/Amazon is offering $20 refund and $10 account credit for future use. Or to return the item for refund without replacement available.
Looks like I’ll take the credits offered, as for what I can tell, the factory warranty is still effective. Which makes me feel a bit better in case it is a returned item with an issue.
Although, there doesn’t appear to be any signs that it ever was used and the chuck/collet don’t appear to have been used.:notsure:
I’ll take it and move on!:)

Splurge for the M18 if you can, it seems more expensive but typically come with batteries vs M12 batteries and chargers being separate in many cases. Also, more power!!

Definitely, although some of the tools only are available in the M12 platform. Which makes sense with the nature of some of the compact or low draw tools.
I’m just glad most of their chargers are multi-platform compatible, makes it almost a non-issue.

Also more weight... I've got both the M18 Fuel and M12 Fuel Hammer Drill / Impact Driver sets, and honestly, I use the M12 a LOT more, especially for around-the-house stuff; it's smaller, lighter-weight and just plain easier to use in most cases and it will quite happily drive a 3" #10 wood screw into a 4x4!

Starting to lean more towards the M12 stuff for truck tools. The 12 puts out just as much torque as my 18 and its smaller.

I'm enjoying the right angle die grinder and ratchet I picked up over labor day.

@geekhouse23 how’d the project go? Did the right angle die grinder work well?

I wasn't able to get to it today. It was another 90 degree day today. I was helping my girlfriend work on her backyard project in the 90+ degree heat yesterday and I believe I had mild heat exhaustion. I was feeling the effects today. Bad.

I worked on a few other small things on the truck today before it got too hot again.

Hoping I can get to it this week or on the weekend.

I second this opinion, I reach for the M12 now over the M18. Also got the M12 Surge and love it for screwing stufs.

Probably a stupid question, but can the rotary tool accomplish any of what the die grinder does? or are they completely separate tools for different purposes?

    Depends on space restrictions honestly.

The Dremel tool doesn't allow for access to tight spaces like the die grinder does.

you can't use the same attachments, can you? I'm wondering if I can use the rotary tool with a grinding pad at all.

Rotary tool won't have the oomph to use a 1.25-2" abrasive disc.

I believe the rotary tool is the 1/8” collet system like a dreamer and the die grinders are 1/4”. You might be able to get a larger collet for the rotary tool, but yeah, the power will be lacking for sure.
They make a straight die grinder as well, that might fit the bill if the 90 degree one is a turn-off.
