Anyone have an issue with this kit?

WORKPRO 101-pieces Roloc Sanding Discs Set, 2 inch Quick Change Discs with 1/4 inch Holder, Surface Conditioning Disc for Die Grinder Surface Prep Strip Grind Polish Burr Finish Rust Paint Removal https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0897MLK9B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5GV2PWWWC6R56CXV00FA

When I went out to the garage just now to check the shank sizing (yes, the rotary tool and die grinder shank/collet sizes are different), the 1/4" mandrel doesn't fit into the Milwaukee collet.

Can I sand down the mandrel?

I wouldn't mind the 90, I just have the rotary tool already, and I'm just hoping I can find an excuse to not want another tool. lol

You could possibly get a different size collet and nut to use accessories with different size mandrels.

Ahhh, I gotcha. I thought you were wanting to use dremmel 1/8” shaft accessories in the 1/4” collet die grinder. That would require the collet insert to be changed. I did read on the reviews that from factory, the collets like to stick and not allow the tool to go in easily.
Glad you were able to get it fixed!

Don't waste your money on that kit. There's a reason that the Scotch pads cost $1-2 EACH, vice a couple of cents. You will burn through those so quickly you won't know where your money went.

As far as using rotary tool accessories in the die grinder, remember that the die grinder spins a LOT faster and has a lot more HP than the rotary tool. Cheap accessories and those meant for rotary tool use may not last long and/or be dangerous to use in the die grinder.

No. I was talking about shaving down the mandrel shaft to fit into the collet.

The reviews are correct. Just FYI to those of us that got the die grinder recently.

Born and raised with Milwaukee tools almost 50 years now m, use with them and love Milwaukee to the day I die.

but on a sidenote avoid their string trimmer or Weedwhacker I’ve gone through a couple right now and they keep breaking on me not worth it. I wonder if they’re going to do a lawnmower.

My string trimmer is in the shop with about 15 minutes of run time on it… :anonymous:

That sucks. At least I’m not the only one with this issue. My third one gives my 5 seconds of run time and dies. :(

Exact same symptoms out of the box. Have to keep letting off the trigger and hit it again to get like 5 seconds of run, then it dies again… frustrating!

Happy with all of my Milwaukee tools but my string trimmer-weedwacker whatever you want to call it is Ryobi lithium ion powered and 2 years in its still rocking.

If you don't need the power of a die grinder the Dremel flex shaft attachment works pretty well to get into some tighter spots.

I have to put in a vote for Stihl gas trimmers. I have beat the shit out of the one below for about 5 years and it keeps on ticking, 20 acres + a few old ladies large properties. The torque on that monster is something that has to be felt, lol. My buddy has their model just below this and it doesnt compare, for some reason. The thing even sounds mean. One of the best tool purchases i have ever made. I also us the blower attachment and the blades attachments. The blower kicks out some hella air.

:hattip:Glad to hear (unfortunately) that the string trimmer are a no-go. I had one in my cart for 2 weeks saying I needed to buy it because my Ryobi one is just not great ergonomics and I wanted more power. So I’ll look elsewhere for a new more powerful trimmer.
