I did mine a few years back. Bumping the starter with a breaker bar on the bolt worked like a champ. I made a bracket out of some metal I had laying around to tighten it back up. Amazon had the seal dirt cheap. I paid $6.50 but looks like it's 17$ now. I think I used a 2prong puller to get it out and sockets to get it back in. It's not too difficult. I think this is the part. The pully has threaded holes to mount a tool to but I can't remember what size and thread. I believe I found a post on TW that detailed it.

I emailed McNeil about how they measure their fiberglass flares. I was curious if the 2" bulge was measured off of the sheet metal or the plastic flare, and it was measured off the plastic flare.

Since I'm currently flareless, I would gain about 3.5" of coverage, which will be plenty adequate once the LT goes on. They're $500 shipped so I'll be placing that order once I sell my currently installed front suspension.

Did you leave your fan and shroud on? Also what side of the truck do you rest the breaker bar on when bumping the starter? Passenger or driver?

I removed the fan but left the shroud. I wanna say passenger but maybe wrong. It will make sense when you get under there. I've seen you change pulleys in the freezing cold Sheetz parking lot with the skids on so I'm sure it will be easy for ya :D

Honestly, I may just leave them since they're white already. We'll see how much of a difference you can tell once installed.

Max Powell may be able to help you that.

I mean, what would it take to roll on some Durabak while they're off the truck? It'll give the gel-coat a little protection. Maybe.

Yeah yeah yeah, you're right. I'll do it, but not sure if I'll do it right away. May be lazy and wait a month or two.

I wouldn't expect anything less. It's a virus. I have truck parts that have been sitting in my garage since Christmas.

You'll have to let me know how that repair goes. When I replaced my idler pullies I noticed I too have seepage from the front main seal. Not sure what caused it.

EDIT: Found this pretty decent walk through on youtube.
