Awesome thanks for the intel! Sometimes I rent a spot but I don’t think they are any better besides I like roughing it.

I got that jones after finding out that Highway 20 was opened for the last month. This was my first time driving over. Previously, it was all epic motorcycle trips but was equally fun, IMHO. The bike is great to accelerate and carve with, but can be tiring, esp if doing the Three Pass Blast. The lower limits of the Taco makes the twists and turns a lot of fun also.

On Friday, I tried to get to a camp on a mountain peak, but I was solo and there was still deep snow on the north slope about 7mi out. So, I found a killer spot about 17mi from anyone.

I found this spot in the morning going the other direction. Friggin' killer group camp site.
    PXL_20210605_132308961.jpg

Then wandering around the Quincy area, I found a nice little dead end hoping to see some big time stars.
    PXL_20210605_212855064.jpg

I fell asleep in the dead calm before they all came out.

I love this photo...... it doesn't really have much of a view but it's a nicely carved road leading into the trees, surrounded by wilderness!

Thanks! I feel the same way. It was that experience the whole way up. Easy wheeling other than dodging fallen trees that weren't fully cleared from a recent wildfire.

It killed me to look at Gmaps when I got home. The left marker is where I camped, the middle is where I turned back, and the right was my goal. That drive along the middle ridge would have been amazing.

Looking great! No regrets from my perspective.
