I kinda want one now that Im watching some videos on them. I could probably sell my civic for more than I paid, and then get one of these.

 

Shouldn't even be all that far for you to go look at them. Some cool right hand drive kei cars as well. No bikes though.

I am sure since i live in CA there are TONS of hoops and stacks of paperwork required to make it legal

 

Does the 25 year rule make it not valid?

In VA, if its 25+ years old, I can register as an antique. That itself says that I cannot drive it daily (but at the same time who are they to be counting what days that I drive it?). Also I have to have another vehicle registered for daily driving. Might also only be able to drive to car shows, repairs, etc that are 250 miles from home or less. Antique plates mean no yearly registration, emissions, or safety inspection either. I had a 74 Honda CB350 with switchable headlight, a 2x4 for a seat, and drum front/rear brakes. I rode that thing daily and I was fine.

I could register it as a normal vehicle, then Id have to have insurance, and all of the requirements above.

Yeah it's storming pretty good now but weekend is looking clear.

Delassandros works, meeting sometime between 11-12. Guess it depends if the flight is on time then travel to and from.

 

That sounds good. Then we dont have to rush as much. @4x4Runner and I are going to be leaving around 7 am. I believe its a 3.5 hour trip there. We will link up with @BkerChuck on rt30 near York I think?

 

@w.adventures so Rt15 to Rt29 is a good alternative if you dont want to be on an interstate. 15 is a smaller road definitely, but lots of places to stop if you need to take a break. And you can take it all the way to Raleigh. Or split off in Culpeper and take 29 through Charlottesville/Lynchburg and take it all they way to Greensboro and longer if you want. Id guess by that time, you would know where you need to go. I suck with directions, so I am not familiar with smaller roads down that way, past Culpeper.

81 is the interstate, 15/29 is the scenic byway but still 60mph. If you take 15 Id still ride with you through Warrenton/Gainesville. Maybe @LocoLocal will be done with his stuff and can meet us on the way.

 

I think the Sheetz I mentioned will be an easy meeting spot. Let me know a time and I'll be there.
