The first time that I ever ate cheese grits was at a breakfast brunch restaurant in the Village - NYC. I never heard of anybody putting cheese in them.

 

Really? Down south cheese in grits in a staple.. I remember a story my grandfather used to tell about how there were nutritional issues with school supplied food for poor communities and they solved the issue by adding cheese to the grits

 

Cheese, Butter, Bacon, Green Onion, Shrimp, Chicken, the list goes on. Basically anything you put on a baked potato and then some.

 

Another day goes by with the 02 sitting outside the shop
