Eibach PRO TRUCK Coilover 2.0 Stage 2

Mine didn't settle by much if at all. I'm about 1/8th to a 1/4" from the bottom on passenger side, maybe 1/2-3/4" worth of threads on the drivers side and level.

 

All done.

 

did you raise it anymore than what it came from eibach?

No adjustment yet. Almost exactly 38” at all four corners out of the box with the 1” blocks.

 

Awesome, had my lift, tires, rims and my aal a while just waiting on my jba ucas to put them in.

 

I called eibach yesterday and ask if a spacer was needed to relocate the e brake cable mounted at the leaf springs and I was told no. I personally feel like there is a slight amount of tension when remounted in the original location. Toyota offers this part with their new lift kit. After talking to customer service at this online retailer and my local dealership we have not been able to confirm if both side are included but I will report back when I receive my package.

 

Has anyone else had any mild creaking while turning the wheels with the truck stationary or going over slow bumps (speed bumps, pulling in and out of the driveway, etc)?

I've been chasing this and I've loosened and retorqued everything several times. I've retorqued with and without load on everything (for instance, the lower shock bolts). It's not a terrible noise, but on the trail it sounds like I have an 87 Squarebody with everything rusted out on it, so definitely mildly annoying.

Also, this was mentioned earlier in the thread, but on occasion, it's very harsh up front when the front suspension extends quickly. Such as going moderately quickly over a speed bump, going over a light rock on the trail, etc. I have no witness marks anywhere, nothing is rubbing, but something doesn't seem right.

 

I was wondering about this myself, I was going to just make a drop bracket but I like engineered parts better if available. Thanks for options.

 

My first drive I was very disappointed in the clanking sound I was hearing..... then I realized it was just my tow hitch bouncing around in my receiver LOL. But seriously once I took that off it was only the same sound you are describing up front that I get. And it is mildly harsh. I’m confident in my fastener torque settings. And I only get it if I hit the speed bump with some speed, like enough speed to get the front off the ground just the slightest amount (I only did it for science). Being confident in my install all I can think is it’s just one of the quirks of this kit. I’m torn on lowering the front .5” or keeping it level but I’m starting to think lowering it a bit might help take some rebound out of the shocks if that makes sense.

 

Yeah I saw in another thread a guy just made a 1x3 ish bracket out of flat steel that lowered the mounting point and it worked but if this kit gives me both sides for about $29 shipped then it seems like a good deal. Although the diy flat bracket does keep the brake line closer to the leaf which might be of a benefit if tire chains unexpectedly loosened up.

 

Ya mine is definitely a creaking from either the coilovers or something in the steering. Nothing changed other than the lift. I had factory skids on after the install initially, then I put aftermarket skids on. I saw on some earlier posts that some people had issues with things rubbing on factory sway bars or the factory brackets (the ones you remove with aftermarket skids). Truck is very low mileage and has never been off road prior to this lift being installed, so I can't believe that anything is worn out.

Even when I lift the truck up, I can hear the noise. But I can't pin point it. Really sounds like the springs creaking on the perch, but I guess it could be something in the top hat too. Maybe I'll jack it up, loosen those top bolts, set it back down and re-tighten with load.

The rebound thing is a little concerning, when you do your first trail ride it's very noticeable if you go over some rocks fast enough to cause the tire to leave the ground. Gets harsh quick.

 

Question? If you add the spacer no alignment required but adjusting the coil over will need one?

 

I figured there is some geometry changes with the lift so I made an appointment for a alignment just for the sake of longevity of my tires.

 

I have the same going over speedbumps. It feels kinda like its slipping as it rolls over the speedbump, correct? I have mine sitting at 2.75 in up front. My installer says its topping out and I can remedy that by lowering it a bit. It stopped bothering me and I kinda like my stance, so I'm leaving it as is...

 

I have mine about 1.5” of lift up front, and I still get the noise/feeling. It’s quite harsh. I think it’s a design issue. Going over speed bumps should not be using all of the down travel of the shock, heck think of how high you need to lift the truck to even get the tires off the ground?

I will talk to Eibach tomorrow about this hopefully

 

Whenever you adjust ride height you should get an alignment.

 

Keep me posted. I'm curious also. I drove it over split speed bumps and only have that issue on my front right.

 

Hmmm come to think of it my sound is also only on the front right.

 

Looks like I'm not alone. Lol
I've accepted it knowing that once I messed with the suspension that there will be little quirks that comes along with it. However if there was a solution, I'd love to address it.

I dont know where u are located, but I'm close to Eibach. If u can get Eibach to look into the issue, I'd take my truck down as the guinea pig and have them take mine for a spin.
