What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I don't know if I'll ever find two more of these. But until then they look amazing on the wall.

 

Is the bpf skid stronger than the oem? I'm seeing some dents and gouges in my oem so I'll need to up grade but I dont want to so to super heavy steel either. My level of off roading is in between oem and the hardcore stuff

 

I'd say it's sturdier. It's heavy steel and seems thicker than the OEM one.

 

Used my Awning for some shade to sand our cabinets we are restaining. Also shout out to Drivetrain America. Ordered my carrier bearing and 3 U joints from them on Thursday and they showed up on Saturday. But in True FuckItUp (fedex) fashion the package was ripped open and my u joints were missing. I emailed them about it and sent some pictures on Saturday and they have new ones out first thing on Monday and they will be here tomorrow.

 

Finally added a RTT and I went with the Mt. Shasta Hybrid version. I absolutely love it so far and the pup approves.

 

There are great trails everywhere around there.

@Stemmy Last summer I hit some great areas south of you (bout 5 hour drive) The trails down around Silver City is very nice as well (a bit more high desert terrain with a mix of nice and not so nice forrest service roads) and you can hit, Wisky Mtn, Black Mtn, Glass Hill, Diamond Basin, Fairview (Old ghost town and Cemetery), VirtuCon's Mill, Forgotten Mine (no trespassing now I think), WarEagle, New York Summit and Silver City. (all part of the Owyhee Mountain range) Last time I took it easy and spent about 4 days worth of driving and exploring.

I will be up that way in about 3 weeks, in and around the Sawtooth Range. (South East of you in the Stanley area).

If you come back through Colorado Springs area, I may be able to get my brother or a few other guys and we could hit a few Colorado trails one day. (it would have to be a weekend for me though, since I already have a2 week trip coming up in a few weeks)

time to fill some holes

 

I received my Deaver U402 stage 3 springs today and I installed them after work. Super stoked.

 

Installed my BAMF sliders after 2 days of cleaning, priming and painting. Received them almost 3 weeks earlier than the estimate!

 

Absolutely, the stock skid is legit tin foil.

 

After installing a newer set of dakars with my new bamf leaf hangers i have a weird click coming from somewhere right around my drivers side brake drum. Heard it in a parking garage. My gf took the wheel so I could walk along beside and its def right at hub/ubolt area. Along with new archive bump stops i also added shims. Don’t really see what could be clicking but i have an apt to get my archive shock relocation installed Thursday so hoping it just goes away lol.

on another note, i have a lean spacer under my leafs on drivers side, wasn’t sure if I should have put the shim above or below spacer, but went with above as the spacer and leaf center pin is one piece. Or it is really really stuck together. If i put it under spacer the pin would not sit deep enough into perch. Was this a mistake? Maybe.. could this be source of the clicking? Maybe..?

Replaced the arm panel fabric!

 

Hey how long was turnaround time with OG Fab? Not sure if I’ve been ghosted or not but I ordered a small molle panel over a month ago and haven’t received any communication

 

I can’t remember exact times, but it wasn’t more than a week or two. However, I was in contact with someone via email and he said I got lucky because they already had the “TRD” template working when my order was made so they went ahead and made mine.

 

$30 used steelies and new Cooper AT3 pizza cutters 238/85r16
Also new outer tie rods, sway bar links, brake pads, and swapped the crappy Whiteline steering rack bushings an ES set. Driving like a new truck! Loving the skinnies.
