    You won't see a new gen till 2026+ tbh... Tacos have been on a 10ish year lifecycle

    Just go ahead and buy one....they aren't going to change much, if at all, even when the new models eventually come out. You'll just know to keep an eye on certain things. Lots of guys have had issues with their crank position sensor that has left them stranded as an example of common things that have gone wrong with these truck...didn't stop me from buying it tho.

    Ive had a coolant smell since new in 2018 and if its this pipe and Toyota doesn't warranty it I'm going to be pissed!

    Ive reported it numerous times (Before knowing about the crossover pipe) and nothing from the dealers I've been too.

    Similar experience. My 2018 always leaves the garage smelling of coolant after it’s been running. But in the last 3 years the level has never dropped. So I figure it’s the reservoir venting.

    If it's documented, then I would imagine you're good to go. Your dealership might be kicking and screaming the whole way, but it's not your fault that they couldn't diagnose the issue prior to your warranty expiring.

    For informational purposes. I have a 2016 DCLB. 100k miles in the Arizona heat. Just had it replaced because it became porous or the seal between the flange and the plastic pipe just wore out. Book has it listed as a 16 hour job and with my oil change I came to about $1500

    BMW had something similar on their Mini Cooper's. I believe their was a Thermostat housing that cracked about 30 to 50K miles. (its big job so it keeps dealers happy)



    do you have a plate underneath? the fluid could be there and as you drive it gets dry. (no pavement marking in your garage)

    I seem to recall its routed above the rear of the engine which I think would leak down onto the trans but I'm not sure. I'll take a peak at that area when I'm underneath trying to silence my OME Dakar leaf spring bushings.

    It was just seeping/sweating. Most of the dried coolant was isolated on the pipe way up high and hard to see. They just caught it using a flashlight and really looking around. Nothing down low.

    My 4.0 ranger also had a plastic (Bakelite) thermostat housing. I had to replace it twice in 2 years. Never had a leak, but it smelled. Luckily, it wasn’t that hard to get to. All 4.0s had that plastic housing, they did make a metal one for the mustang 4.0 though.
