Wraps tend to fade in sunlight over time, plus chips and peeling. At the end of the day it's vinyl, it gets effected by the elements as time goes by. Most people actually replace their wraps every 2-4 years, but really depends on how well you take care of it. Taking it off is a pain in the ass and time consuming. If you get cheap vinyl and it's very brittle, it'll break off in small pieces instead of big ones on a giant pull. But same thing as installing, use a heatgun and doing it on a hot sunny day will help tremendously.

Vinyl is temporary. You can have it in the vehicle for about 5 years. Varies on vinyl and other conditions, can be shorter.
After 5 years is will be very difficult to remove vinyl. Vinyl will almost bond to paint.

PS, im not an expert. just what I read online.

    PSS this is tempting. https://imagecraft.mysimplestore.com/products/black-50-scale-1717

Good info. The vinyl on my hood has been there for 4+ years and I’ve done zero specialized upkeep. Maybe I should consider pulling it off. My only concern would be paint fade.

Looks like my geolanders won’t be here until the 14th. Is it me or is everyone this impatient with things for their Yota? :annoyed:

Whatcha'll think about bronze nv305's for me. I currently have 17x8 fn fx pros in dark gloss gunmetal.
Thinking I want to go bronze, but have reservations that I will still like them years from now or should I just go with the timeless Black? The bronze are on sale right now for $217 each and I'd probably spend and other $100 after for the flat center caps. Wheels are normally $255 each.
Size i'm looking at is 16x8. Going back to 16's for more sidewall.
Here what I would look like. I also have a shell.

    Those look nice.

Of course, I don't agree with black being "timeless"...

DO IT!!! I wish I got the bronze variation of my wheels :( looks so good against MGM. I slick thought that first pic with the shell was yours, but then didn't see your badass sliders. Why go with the flat centers? Cause they won't get damaged as easily? I'm really contemplating just getting my black wheels powdercoated bronze too btw, that's always an option if you wanna change from black I guess

Don't really like the center cap that stick out like 4 inches. It would be different if I had manual hubs and it wasn't a choice. The flat ones aren't flush but just flatter and more low profile.

Well I like the look of black and I know my opinion of black wheels will stay the same years down the road no matter what new trends come along. I'm just not sure I'll feel the same way about bronze as it is a pretty bold choice. But with MGM it does look like one of the better options I've seen.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I love the look of that wheel, always have. Looks like a desert runner!
I had some Methods that came on a 2nd gen I had. Thing was lifted 6” and satin black wrapped. Was mean AF looking!

Posting this again, cause Wraps and Methods are on topic. My old truck had both:

I was able to recover some pics of my old 2nd gen taco. I thought you guys would enjoy seeing it. I know some are going to ask, that is a 3m satin black wrap I put on there. After owning for a bit with the wrap, I don’t recommend it, plastic dip is much easier to deal with down the road.
Wish I still had it...but no looking back..onward!

I think if we could all have our way, we'd never sell anything and just keep adding to the collection.

I'm in a similar first world problem boat. I love the grey TRD wheels but I love brushed copper! The contrast on MGM is outstanding. Side_By_Side.jpg

That old building looks a whole lot like one in Macon I climbed and explored all over in my teens. I do love that truck too. I'd have method nvs if I could afford them. Haha

It’s the exact same one. That’s my stomping grounds when I was a kid.

Here's what I have now and I'd just like more contrast from my truck color to wheel color, esp since my wheel is all one solid color now. It's just too matchie matchie and not enough color break up.
