Fairly recently ordered this from GS. A few months ago I bought a 48 with intentions of using it as a parts pistol. Got the pins drilled last weekend and started working on tabs. I also have a p80 19 I’m starting to build, but that will be a long process. I also have a 43x if I wanted to use the ss80 as a carry.429FD6FE-38AF-4DFC-920D-41078CB55B19.jpg

Light came in today. I was going to mount it underneith but the controls were much easier to use mounted on top. I can see the light in the lower third of the sight picture but it doesn't inerfere with the reticle. I guess i'll try this for a while and if I don't like it I'll move it.

Kinda hard to get a pic through the optic with my phone. You can see the light in this but in person it doesn't show this bad

I think based on the way one would traditionally grip the handguard, on top makes the controls easier to use with a thumb.
Nice set up my GLOCK mag AR-9 brother!

 Yep the light controls are ambdextrous and on the rear of the sight so I can literally just flip them with my thumb. Oh these things are a blast to shoot.

I agree. I have a CMMG Banshee with 5" barrel and put a TLR-VIR II on top. Limited real-estate up there and I wanted an IR laser/white light.

I sent my barrel to Rudy at Macon Armory to get throat work done so it would feed all HP ammo. Now it is my bump in the night gun I keep in the closet.

That's a nice security device. I have no children at home anymore so as my "bump in the nght" weapon it just rests by my nightstand. Hopefully it is never needed.

Before kids, that's where mine was too. I now have 2 so anything not in my safe has to be secured.

Absolutely. When my kids were growing up they were both tought gun safety and how to shoot but at home everything was kept locked up.

Picked up a 17Design lower from Primary Arms on their Memorial Day special, a Strike Industries enhanced LPK from JoeBobs, and a Geissele Super 42 buffer tube kit from OpticsPlanet for my pin & weld 14.5". Really happy with how it looks with the Aero billet upper and Sig tread handguard.
