Pricing breakdown for my TRD OR DCLB. I'm paying msrp plus $299 for the pulse brake they put on every car. In transit and due to the dealer 6/21-6/28. April allocation that I was lucky to find and put a deposit down on 5/23.

@bigbadbarty Nearly identical as mine. Only difference being I don't have the wheel locks or mud guards--negotiate those being thrown in or add in the driveway.

Would be interesting to see the GIS map of destination charge areas.

I'm fine with the $200 in accessories. All other dealers had second stickers and added even more dealer options. I only found one dealer that would go below MSRP but they are small and don't get many Tacomas allocated to them. Especially long beds. I'm just glad I was able to find exactly what I want for MSRP and only have to wait a month. Others putting their specs into the "allocation randomizer" are waiting months and months. $200 in extras is fine with me. :)

@bigbadbarty So you got yours from that small dealer? Awesome that their allocation was essentially spot on what you wanted.

No, the small dealer was the only one willing to discount MSRP. I ended up at Toyota Of Tacoma which is a very large Toyota dealer.

Gotcha. I'm guessing most DCLB ORs that get the premium OR package also get the advanced tech thus making those with premium but no MTM are fewer.

yeah I know I just asked cuz MSRP of 47k usually means it has that package Premium off road package but wondering if it did or they just had a 10k markup which i am seeing right now here in Northern CA

    2021 Cement SR5
Long time lurker here. Just purchased our first Tacoma — 2021 Cement SR5.

Tons of great information on here, thank you guys.

    Here’s our breakdown:

    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed - 2021, SR5, 4x2, Cement, Auto, Short
    2. MSRP (before dealer add ons) $34k
    3. Options: n/a
    4. Cost of dealer add ons-$250
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate - $33,999
    6. Discount = $1
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash) - none
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD) $37k
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim) - none
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value n/a
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade) - none
    12. Date purchased - 6/4/2021
    13. State purchased - CA
We live near the SF Bay Area and was able to get below MSRP at Sunnyvale Toyota. The only two dealership that wouldn’t charge over MSRP were them and Walnut Creek Toyota. Both had great salesman and were up front that they weren’t going to markup their trucks.

    Hope this helps!

    2021 Trail edition Toyota Tacoma
Purchased my first vehicle at South Coast Toyota in Costa Mesa SoCal which was a 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4 cement color trail edition with 8 miles on it off the lot about a month ago. Me being the gullible 22 year not having done any research whats so ever before going to the dealership alone with no prior knowledge of the situation. I thought I was getting a steal for this vehicle. *Sigh* I messed up. Window sticker said 48,000 I had put 10,000 as a down payment and financed it for 6 years. I'm pretty sure I'm stuck with this price, although I do love Tacomas this one just hurts to own a little knowing I got ripped off big time. Thought I would share my story to help anyone else in the future. Picture below shows all the pricesimage (1).jpg

Hey, if you made the deal, you must have been fine with it? Next time you know to do a little research and maybe save some $$$. You found a good place to research and get help, answers, etc..

In the meantime, enjoy your new truck. :)

5.99% isn't that bad consider you're just 22 and probably don't have 10 plus years of credit history
I don't know how the window sticker can add up to 48k, maybe you were shown some dealer appended window sticker? that's separate from the monroney sticker. That's probably where the deal is bad, but next time you know those "premium tint" and "nitrogen filled tires" have $0 value and should be negotiated off.

as for the truck, I'd say pay as much as possible soon so you don't get charged the interest so much. All auto loans can be paid off early with no penalty.

Per my wife: her last loan couldn't be paid off early. I never saw the loan doc but have no reason not to believe her. When I was dealing with the finance manager/loan officer on my truck I made sure to ask about any penalties for paying off early (weren't).

But I agree, pay as much off as early as possible to help get from being upside down and to save some interest.

@Angel_lopeezy: plug your #s into this spreadsheet. If possibly, play with the additional payments column and it'll do all the math. It'll show if there is any decrease in total number of payments needed, recalculated total interest paid (vs. amount if only paying required monthly loan amount).

Toyota Financial Services do not charge any prepayment penalty, neither do Chase. I think most manufacturer financing and big banks offer simple interest car loans don't have penalty.
There might be some pre-computed interest car loans which I personally never heard of or used might have prepayment penalty, they seem pretty sketchy to me.

If you don't have the means to pay it off ASAP, which you likely don't which is why you financed it(as many of us do for the same reason), I would just look into refinancing it. Do your research on who offers the best refinancing rates on vehicles and try to go through them. Keep in mind, you DO NOT need to have a financial institution close to you to get a loan from them. Credit Unions often times offer the best rates but Bank of America is offering great rates right now on auto loans as well. They gave me 2.14% for my 2021. If your credit score is about 700 or 720 you will have no problem getting a decent refinance rate in the 3's. You paid a good amount of money to learn a tough lesson but you're young and I bet you'll never make this "mistake" in your life again. I feel your pain. Also a life long tip to remember and this is a hypothetical example: if you have debt with an interest rate of 3% but you could easily invest your money and make 5% then there would be no need to put $10k down. Similarly, if you have say student loans with interest rates of 4% and your auto loan is 3% then you should be putting that cash towards your student loans.

    Here’s my breakdown:
    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed: 2021, Off-Road, Army Green, Automatic, 5 foot bed
    2. MSRP (before dealer add ons): $39,9xx
    3. Options: LED headlights/fog lights & technology package
    4. Cost of add ons: $485 and $800 (respectively from #3 above)
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate: $39,9xx
    6. Discount: Free water bottle at the dealership
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash): none
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD): $26,7xx - due to trade-in
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim): 2017, Toyota, Tacoma, Sport
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value: $28,000 - $31,000
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade): $29,7xx
    12. Date purchased: 6/9/21
    13. State purchased: KS

Just be prepared when you go to the dealership, fight for your trade-in allowance, say no to any add on you don't want, be pre-approved for a loan before you go, and have a quote on warranties from: http://fd-warranty.com

When I pulled those warranty quotes out in the finance office the guy stopped dead in his tracks instantly and stopped trying to sell me a warranty. He knew he couldn't beat those quotes so that's who I'll be getting mine from. It's a Toyota Platinum warranty from a Toyota dealership from that website above and their prices are going to beat almost(but not every) dealership.

God speed to you all. If you have finance questions about buying a vehicle, HIT US UP IN THESE FORUMS. Some of us know numbers better than others but no one wants to see you get screwed.
