Yesterday I noticed while turning to the left a "clicking" sound coming from the right side of the truck. It seems to only click when making a slow left turn requiring more turning radius. I did a search on the topic and saw something about "CV's" ? not sure what they are. Any Ideas? is it a costly fix?

Your 4wd? More than likely it's the cv. That's the axle. Check so see if one of the boots are ripped or torn.

i had axle issue on my 2000 nissan altima... pain in the ass, once that's replaced... its never the same again. If it is torn... probably the grease its all gone and its dried up. It you keep driving.... it will seize your transmission. (that's what the mechanic told me back then)

What do CV's look like? They are the things with the boots on them.

Thanks for the picture. Unfortunately, can't really get a good look at them since we just had a snow storm. Ill inspect the covers first chance I get.

I'm not one to do this job myself, should I take it to the dealer? I would hate to get ripped off, but yet I want it to be done right... cost????
