Bumper clips, cowling clips, fender clips and anything else I forgot. I’m gonna go broke and have to request another stimi.....

And it solid rains everyday now. So I ripped everything apart and all I can do is “stare at it” in the garage. I have no room.

However, I do have an abundance of scooters, escooters, hover boards and bikes if anyone needs any... Kids are horrible......

Never. Wouldn’t want some teenager to try to figure out how to operate a tape deck. Probably just blow the speakers anyway.

Horrible clear coat loss on the roof. Just gonna wax the crap out of it and paint in 10 years for its 35th birthday.

    Like, so many.
I'm not suggesting you do, but you could sell that for so much money.

I don’t think you understand how many cassettes were in the glove compartment. I’m set!

YES. I’m glad I’m not the only one that listens to movie soundtracks.

Wonderful truck, you have a real gem and a great story to go with it. Keep it and enjoy it.
Another vote for keeping it stock. I like the idea of having the original wheels refinished.

Are you sure that paint is basecoat/clearcoat? I had the same color (cardinal red) on my 2000 Tacoma and it was single-stage, which means there is no clearcoat and you can polish the single stage paint to a very nice finish if you use the correct products and take the time to do it right.
    Just a thought.

I’ll definitely give it a try. Thanks for the advice. Cardinal red is the devil and you know your lingo. Definitely a Tacoma man.

I’m glad to help in any way I can.

Just be mindful of the “hard edges” when you get to work polishing. It doesn’t take much to burn through the paint down into the primer. The creases on the hood and top edges on the doors are places to exercise prudence.

With that said, if you’re careful and diligent, you can revitalize single stage paint.

Love this thread. I recently picked up a 2000 regular cab 4x4 with 91k miles, all stock, and super clean. Frame looks about like yours. No real plans for mine except it got a new radio, speakers, tint, and about to get the driver seat redone.

Your truck needs and Alabama decal in the rear window.
