Get some no-see-um mesh and sticky velcro for a ‘screened porch’. Sleeping with the back open is the only way to get air when it’s hot.

    yeah, or…

•the ‘hook’ side Velcro might stick right to your headliner carpet, depending on what it is

•you can put a ‘drawstring’ in the mesh and make a giant ‘hair net’ that cinches around the open cap door and dropped tailgate

•some little fridge magnets will stick to the edges of the tailgate

Might try something like this? \/ \/ \/

    Quiet USB fans (acinfinity.com)

They are USB powered. You could put a couple of them in the window. One on each side with one pushing and one pulling. Just a thought.

Lakeland cap on my cavalry blue. A bit of a headache to get it right, but still only took 7 weeks compared to ARE or Leer. I had it in 3 weeks, but it had to be shipped back to the factory to get resprayed and have a windoor replaced.

The Voyager, which I believe is the only one you can add windoors too, which is why I chose it.

Previous caps I have had have been this model but more basic. I added the windoors to this one and also there was a special for carpet and an interior led which are both nice to have options.

ARE Evolve CX. Not necessarily an endorsement.

Prinsu racks, cab and top, light bar, rear and side roof rack lights, ARE Camper shell, blackout, TRD Grille, Anytime front and rear cameras, Truck bed box (DIY) Bilstein 5100 front, OME 2885 Coils, Ikon Stage 2 Rear AAL
Ordered a ARE CX from my local dealer. Was told ARE doesn't make sliding windoors for the DCSB due to "length of the shell is too short to accomodate.." I know for a fact that a guy I follow on IG has a V-Series, which is nearly identical to the CX, has sliding windoors on his DCSB. Apparently dealer rep said when he goes to input the info for the order on the ARE... Website, interface, I dunno what the set up is, it's not an option for him.

    Any suggestions?

    1) Call a few different dealers and ask all of them the same question and see what they say...
    2) Report back to TW

Called the only other dealer in the area and they confirmed it. ARE doesn't provide the windoors for the 5-foot bed Tacoma. One guy said he thinks they "used to," but ARE switched vendors for a material a year or so back and it's no longer offered. Oh well.

    Stock for now.. maybe
I've heard it's regional for the windoors on 5' beds? Maybe it used to be an option but discontinued?

I personally went without them on purpose and got 50/50 sliders. I have a 6' bed and I'm fine without them (my heightis 5'8 1/4"). I just pack accordingly. It's not like you can fit a Rubbermaid through there anyways. Mine is a Leer so the sliding windoors look horrible as well

Can I see more of this RockyMounts bike rack in action? My MonoRail is great but it's always in the way when using the bed.

Maybe so. I like the ideas of the windoors because I'm used to reaching into the side of my softopper for stuff, etc. The sliding option seemed like a good idea if I have the dogs back there, but that may never come to pass anyway. I'll figure something out.
