They found mine during an oil change...they dropped the RCI skid plate and noticed some dried coolant.

That's what Toyota should do with this. Make a metal one.

I’m pretty sure I saw someone on TW already made one or in the process.

Really? Well, they should make a pretty penny for themselves. I for one would buy it & keep it on standby If I need it I will hand it to Toyota to install for me. What's the point of paying them all that labor for a new "same old plastic design" part?

It's like the needle bearings for the drivers side c.v axle. Whether it's replaced under warranty or not you get the same old poorly designed part. On my '15 I had a friend of mine install the ECGS bushing even though Toyota was going to cover the replacement.

BTW, I love your profile picture! Makes me laugh every time I see it!

    Haha! Thanks!

Yeah I agree. I do have a metal oil filter housing on stand by, Justin Case.

I tried to find the thread in google, but couldn’t. I swear i saw someone make one, unless I’m losing my mind. Really dumb they are using plastic parts for the cooling system.

I believe @Jowett was working on the beta for an OEM metal one. But there's slight differences

Unfortunately today while replacing the transfer case oil, and getting ready to drain a re-fill the transmission, I noticed the leak in that bypass pipe on the back of the engine.
The good thing is that I have an extended warranty that should cover it. The bad thing is we are having T-storms in Northern CA, and lightning started two fires near by.
Cant put the truck in shop yet.
