Upgraded the audio system…

 

I think toyota really dropped the ball on the OEM jbl system, they should have used this for the subwoofer. Its a subwoofer that docks and then turns into bluetooth party speaker.

It’s even worse than you think. It’s like a collab between Tupperware x JBL.

 

Got mine Feb 12th of this year and have a total of 768 miles on it. I work from home for now so not a far commute. When I did have to drive it was 20 miles round trip

That's the stock JBL one? Wow that's bad

 

Wife has the JBL system in her 16 Rav4, never liked the sound. After I changed the tweeters in my Tacoma (not JBL), I thought I’d change her tweeters to see if it helped...it did!

Got mine almost exactly a year ago and I’m actually the second owner. The first owner put on 351 miles and I’m only at 2,182 now.

Yeah, that’s the OEM JBL sub. I was very disappointed when I saw it while I was installing an OEM Audio + system.

Just received my 4" rise/drop Anderson and took it right away to my friend to have it polished before installing it on my truck. I know, it will get tarnished, scratched and so forth but I wanted it nice and shiny for the time being until I begin to tow with it. Never seen one polished so I thought why not, let's do it! I will clean it regularly and do my best to keep the shine, almost hesitant to even install it.

 

I've got the non JBL system and it was terrible. I upgraded the tweeters to the Subaru ones, and it made a huge difference. I took the time and did the front and rear speakers back in late April. It was an improvement. But nothing that's gonna impress sound aficionados. Toyota really needs to hire sound enthusiasts and get the speakers right. But that's just my 2 cent opinion.

 

My wife walked in while I was scrolling through all these pictures and asked me what they were, so I told her "sex toys"... and she seemed to accept my explanation...

 

I think that should at least concern her - lol. If I said that I would get a real disgusting look and the "We need to talk" look

 

Nope. Married 35+ years...she's used to my sense of humor by now...

 

Finally had a day off to put these @TUFSKINZ door sills in. Wasnt hard at all. And I think it looks better than the OEM.

But man, the front doors had some serious scratches going on under those OEM ones.

Protip: a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol makes the cleaning of the door seals a lot easier. Found this at the local Kroget. Was $2.29.
