Well hopefully the retirement will be something good out of it. I still have a skosh over 35 years till I even consider it. Hopefully they don't nuke our pension plan...

All good brother, just a sore neck. Dealing with insurance company even when the accident was 100 percent not your fault makes me want to go mental.

35 years to go? How long have you been working for the State?

They just had to throw their A logo on there. I hate branding. I just don't want random letters all over the truck.

I took my dog onto the deck about 5:30 a.m. this morning and immediately heard a large crack and crash. I took a walk down the road to see if a tree fell on my neighbor's house and found it, fortunately, across the road only. Our road is narrow, so the tree is covering the entire road. My wife usually takes this way to work. I told her, not today.

Good morning PA TW. Ready to get the work day over and it didn't even start yet:rofl:. Heading to camp this tonight after work. Ready to get away for a little and chase after some native brook trout. Gonna see how things go with elbow and that'll determine if I'll be chasing natives or chasing beers on the back porch:rofl:. Everyone have a great day and be safe:)

The township road crew is at the scene. They told me the falling tree only caught the electric wires of the old farm house where this big old oak fell. I knew a saw a flash right after the tree fell. I thought maybe it was lightning, given the rain we have had. It's a foggy day to be out there, but at least it is fully daylight now.

Yes sir. My chain saw is broke at the moment. Given there might be some live wires in the mix, I'll leave it to the pros. The township crew is good at this as we have a tree fall across the road at least once a year, and that is just our road. The township is rather large and rural. This is about as much action as we get around these parts. :D The road crew is currently waiting for the electric company to come and turn off the power to the affected houset so right now it's wait and see.

The first flood we had in the basement was 3' deep. The bins that I had put onto the lower shelves were trapped by the shelf above and filled with water. Lost all of my old record albums and family photos and hundreds of out of print books and old car magazines that I thought were in a safe place! We had just moved and the basement was full of stuff that we had to throw out. The furnace was underwater but lived. There was a dehumidifier down there and underwater.....with the full light on. Kind of a funny sight. The water was crystal-clear and super cold.
I was working in the city at the time. When I heard that a lot of folks were getting water in their basements, I asked my father to swing by the house. Next call I got was, "who should come home". It was a long train-ride home.
Now I have two sumps and the house generator. Live and learn.
