Do all 2020 TRD ORs come with remote start?

I bought a 2020 TRD off road, basic technology package. No sunroof, JBL, or leather last year. When I bought the truck they sold my a viper remote start system asking if I wanted remote start or not. I said sure and they said it was going to be an extra 300ish bucks if i remember right. Well i disconnected and reconnected the battery the other day and my Viper remote start wasnt working but when I clicked the lock button 3 times the car started up. Did I get sold a remote start system when it already came with it? I bought it from a dealer brand new too.

 

Yes you did, but in order to keep using the factory remote start you have to pay a subscription to Toyota

Not all 2020's have remote start. My 2020 Or did not have remote start. I had to install a start x to have it work.

 

So if you click your lock button 4 times before installing the remote start it did nothing right?

 

lights would blink as if it was about to start but i never did.

 

Does it start now when you click the unlock 4 times after the remote start?

 

Now that I have a start X installed it does start like factory.

 

All TRD models come with it. It’s weather the dealer turned it on or not. My 2020 sport came with it but when I tried it out it wouldn’t work. Took to dealer for first oil change and told them, they told me it just wasn’t activated before I left with it when I bought it. At least that’s what the dealer told me.

So ive been doing some research and all TRD off roads can be remotely started but it cost 8 bucks a month. I bought the most basic OR you can get so if mine had it they all do. I checked my account and the remote start subscription isnt active. Im still confused because my viper system isnt working but the 4 clicks is working.

 

Im thinking mine is like yours however my remote start works like normal but the viper key fob isnt working. Weird.

 

My MT TRD OR doesn't work with the 4 clicks.

 

I have a 2020 TRD OR with technology and premium package and it doesn't do anything but beep if I click the lock button 4x.

So if I take it to the dealer they should be able to activate the remote start for me?

 

I just found another thread that said to press the lock button 3 times and hold it for at least 2 seconds the 3rd time. I tried that and it started right up!

A lot of misinformation in here. Not all 2020 TRD's have remote start and the ones that do have it, do not have to have a subscription to remote connect for remote start to work from the key fob.

 

Correct on not all 2020's coming with one. I read through included equipment on mine and went through all options via Techstream; no remote start. Tried using the fob and Toyota app, no go. Not too tore up over it though since I never had one nor need it.

 

Some aftermarket remote starters also do the 3 lock start as well that’s the problem. I dont know which system is starting it or if I have 2 remote start systems.

 

Seen several threads of confusion on this topic. Would be nice to get a sticky with years, packages, app details, how to, etc.

My 2020 TRD OR 4x4 (no packages) won't do it, tried to set up on app and everything, no go.
