Hey guys I purchased a CBI HCRB about 3 years ago and at the time could still fit my spare in the stock location. I didnt think I would need the swingout and wanted to save a few bucks at the time. Since then I have made the jump to 315s and want to add a swingout. No im not interested in a hitch mounted or tailgate wilco swingout, ultraswing, etc. The other option is to sell the bumper and purchase a CBI HCRB with their swingout but this will be a much more costly option and CBI lead times are LONGGG.

I found a DIY swingout kit made by 4x4 innovations

Wondering if anyone has any experience doing this, has any pics, suggestions, or other kits they've used.

Here are a few pics of my current bumper

One of my biggest concerns is that the hinge assembly requires a flush mounting surface and this bumper tapers up towards the tail light as seen below.

I had that 4Xinnovations swing out fitted to my old truck's Shrockworks bumper, worked pretty good. The hinge and latch are really nice and beefy. You'd have to get creative with some gussets or something to mate it up to your CBI, I think it could work.

Just make a simple gusset to fill the tapered area. :notsure:

I used a 4xinnovations swingout mount on a Pelfrybilt HC works great.

The extension box for the hinge looked a little funky until we got the bumper mounted on the truck. There was about 3/4” clearance between the tailgate and the swing out at the camera and tailgate profile. Yours looks super clean though. Those corners on the pelfrey bumpers don’t make it easy.
