I used some stainless carabiners I had laying around. The clip didn't quite open far enough to put them on without taking off the headrest, but it's not a big deal. It also provides the thin section to allow the headrests to go all the way down while still being strong.

And yeah, the first one I made I cut the cord too short for the outer layer. Fixed that on the 2nd one though.

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.

I agree. I did and like the look way better than that awkward black slotted piece. I did mine before my bhlm and it was easy. Did t drop bumper nothing. Was able to get to both screws.

"Trailgate" sounds like what happened when those assholes tagged the ancient petroglyphs in Moab.

Swapped out all of my speakers. Went with the Subaru/Kicker tweeters, Kicker KS 6x9s in the front, and Kicker CS 6.75" in the back. I didn't think it was worth upgrading the back speakers since you can't really hear them anyway, but it's a slight improvement. Overall, the tweeters made the biggest difference between all of them. Also added some Noico 80mil sound deadening for the 6x9s. I figured it was useless for the back speakers, so I didn't bother with those. Still debating on a small sub (Kicker Hideaway 8" maybe), so I'll see what these sound like once they get broken in.

Replaced the front diff needle bearing with the ECGS bushing with some tools that a kind member on the forum allowed me to use. Not a bad job.

YES IT IS. If they have it stock - get it.

The hardest part of mine was finding a decent mini-USB cable to the camera. I had a 6" one, but it was too inflexible to make the bend to the camera power port. An 18" cable worked better - I just wrapped the excess length tightly around the base of the mirror mount. It's worked solidly for about 2 years now.

I actually routed the cable up into the headliner and dropped it at the camera.
