Front Turn Signal

My truck’s right blinker was blinking fast so naturally I check the right blinkers. It was the front right that was out. I replaced both front blinker bulbs and went to test them but my right blinker still isn’t working. But when I turn my blinkers on inside the cabin my right blinker flashes normally. It’s not blinking fast anymore but the light is still not working.

faulty bulb? Need a new wiring harness?

 

Do you have a multimeter or a test light to check for voltage at the bulb socket?

If so check to see what you have at the light socket. Then we can make some educated guesses and suggestions.

Is the rear right turn signal working?
The voltage for both front and rear come from the same place.

 

Both front blinker bulbs...on the right?

The one that isn't blinking; Are you referring to the small marker bulb (194) that's outboard from the headlamp bulb? If so, it's not a turn signal. Only the inboard bulb (3157) acts as a turn signal.


Since you say it isn't flashing fast anymore, that's what came to mind.

 

It is my front right blinker (3157NA) I’m not able to check for the voltage. My back right is working. I’ve changed the bulbs again on my lunch break and still not working.

 

Swap the left front and right front turn signal bulbs, see if the inoperative front bulb switches from right to left. If the right side stays inoperative, then try swapping the bulb socket itself, from right to left side (they do unplug from the harness).

If the fault follows the bulb socket, there's your problem (and they're fairly cheap from the dealer). If the right side is still inoperative, there's a wiring issue afoot and that diagram Jimmy posted will be helpful in diagnosing the circuits.

 

Well if you cannot check for voltage how are we supposed to help you?

Buy a meter or a test light. Both are cheap.

If the rear lamp is working that rules out the flasher and wiring up to where they split between front and rear junction block.

If the rear is working and the bulb is good and you are sure it is plugged in all the way. It is a wiring problem.

 

Be careful with this but did the bulb 'snap' into place? If I recall, I had to push pretty hard to get them to seat. I'd recommend wearing gloves and try that.

A basic meter and test light (preferably incandescent) should be the first electrical related tools everyone should own, and don't need to expensive.
