Interested. Just quick question, if installed on the roof rack, how is it secured from theft?

 

I had mine locked to the crossbar with an Ottolock which is a kevlar locking strap...see photo! These locks are awesome, I use them on my bikes when travelling and have never had any issues with people messing with them.

I've also seen these locking knobs for hi-lifts which would probably work, I think the threading and size is the same as the Sherpa mounts.

I think it's going to be pretty expensive to ship... definitely appreciate it but you'd be better off buying new from somewhere with free shipping I think. I've shipped similar weights/dimensions and it was around $75
