That is what I was hoping it was. Maybe Blackstone isn't up to speed yet with T case fluid swaps are still a new thing.

 

So I have purchased some of the ravenol 75w fluid. I did look through the posts, and couldn't find specifically the total amount needed for the transfer case. Could anyone chime in with a response, I don't want to get into this and not have enough to finish the job. I bought one container worth, and I don't know specifics on how much the transfer case takes. Thank you!

 

You need one full liter. In my garage, it started to dribble out just has I finished emptying it.


The Ravenol bottle is pretty cool with the integrated pour spout and straw.

Drain existing fluid into a clean container then fill. If you spill a bit and not quite full, top up the last few mL with the old. It'll likely be pretty clean on draining anyhow

What you said about it being pretty clean is spot on. It was virgin as far as I could tell when I swapped it at 7k. That stuff coulda been in there 'til 60k.

 

I did mine at 100K kms (60k miles)...clear as a bell

 

Shit. At least I learned my lesson. Given all the 2LM fun, I will use the Toyota LF stuff.

 

Ya, I went with Toyoya OEM TC fluid and diffs. Very happy with them. MT 90 was my only departure from OEM and very happy

 

Oh yeah. I just did my second MT-90 swap at 50,000mi. Getting 43,000mi out of it is pretty good compared to our other MTs.

The old stuff came out looking used but good enough.

 

Someone, please change my ODO so that I can start talking in Science Units.
