Yeah, she weighs about a thousand pounds less. Tacoma’s have become fat pigs. On the positive side, 3rd gens are quite safe in case of an accident.

Back a few years I got a “free” credit card in the mail. The entire back page was size 4 font regulations. Which included the rule that if you ever paid the full balance off you would get a $29 fee charged the next month. So, then you would have a balance again which if you paid off you would be charged again!

Buy new Tacoma's > Turo (to put of few thousand miles on them) > Carvana

 

If you own two new truck's outright, it doesn't sound like you need the money. I'd say keep it.

 

If you are not happy with the truck then I would sell it . Try other dealers to see what offer you get . Purchase something that you enjoy driving or just stay with the 4Runner use the extra cash to highly mod it .

 

Carmax offered me 3k more then vroom. 300 over what I paid for it in 2016. Checked prices to replace… not worth it!

 

If you don't need it AND/OR don't want it then sell it. Simple

 

You'd think the regulars on a automotive forum would know the difference between asking price and final sale price...

Read the fine print and ask yourself "where are they making their money?" There is always a catch. If it's too good to be true, it is.

If these things are really going for so much money on the used market, and you wanna sell your brand new car, then do it yourself for cash. Report back how that goes for ya!

 

Currently in this situation with a 2018 Rav4 hybrid whose lease is up. Equity is huge with the used car lots empty of Rav4 hybrids. The downside is that you gotta replace it with something, and the new ones are not discounted--not to mention backordered. Its a good time to sell a used car if you dont need it; its also a good time to hunker down with the cars you do have. Count my blessings we have three reliable vehicles.

 

If you have something else to drive, 100% sell it. The issue is if you have to replace it, then it is not worth it because the market is so crazy right now. I'd look into doing it fast though, I am in the car business and the auction prices have taken a STEEP nose dive the last couple of weeks, so the book values will adjust accordingly soon.
