We're expecting 4+ inches here tonight, which is very rare. Unfortunately I'm on call tonight, so if I'm out, I'll be out in the worst. I got 8 50# bags in the bed, half of which I intend to use for spreading if needed. With that, some new Michelin AT/2's, and an easy foot I hope I'll be ok.

x2. 4 inches? We have had 24 inches in 24 hours.. I drove everywhere I needed to, just fine.

I guess in a place where you don't normally get snow it may sound bad, but I think you should be ok ;)

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Of course I live in Texas so there is not a great need for it. The snow we do get usually shuts everything down so I can sit my ass on my couch watching TV.

 I thought the same thing...I was out in that much and then some yesterday and didn't think anything of it! Well...until I fishtailed on a curve and had an 'OH SHIT' moment  Toy recovered quickly and we carried on our way home.

Hmmmm...there's a shortage of camels here in MT so I'll stick to sandbags :)

I have a 7ft6'' sno-way plow on my Tacoma and throw about 300lb in the back when I plow. Without plow in snow I carry about 150lb plus some extra gear. I have the GENERAL GRABBER AT2 tires and winter traction is excellent. If Iam pushing really heavy stuff I kick in the reart diff-lock. No troubles to date at 80,000 miles.

Yes...about 150 pounds...made my own "pet rock" with a Contico black plastic trunk filled with some extra bags of gravel and sand I had out behind the shed. I find it helps. Also running Bridgestone Blizzak Studless tires for the first time this year...best winter tire I've ever run. This is my 9th year in Alaska.

I put 240#, back end slipped a little at a real slick corner. I didn't want to have the back slide 90 degrees on every turn.

I put a cargo bar just in front of wheels to block the sand from sliding forard., seemed to be the right place.

I have about 450 lbs of stuff in the back all the time, tools, bugout bag, recovery gear, and other stuff. so while I do not put anything extra for the winter time snow. I do put "weight' in the back, it is a truck after all.

Luckily the snow here in South Florida is non-existent. I do however have 4WD should the need arise.
