I am up to 150 miles and half tank; Assuming a 16 gallon tank, I am pushing 19MPG.

Drives well on highway, but I noticed a slight engine/trannie vibration aroung 60 -65 MPH?? Is that normal? Accelerates well, and down shifts well when punched. Although there was strong side wind truck stayed on course (maybe the 240 lb sand bags help).

I am also noticing that from stop the fisrt gear is not very smooth; I am not sure if it is caused by the tranny, rear end, or the ruggerd trail tires? It feels choppy, and the initial acceleration is not shooth. I wonder if the tires are doing this? It smooths out after the initial 5-7 seconds.

Thanks for your input, as I am a Tacoma newbie! (Not a automotive newbie, as I have rebuilt many Camaros, T/As, Blazers when I was younger and had more free time!).

There is more vibration in the gas pedal than the brake pedal, which make me think it is more likely engine, trannie, mounts??? It is not noticable, most drivers would not notice it....but I am a looking for perfection on a brand new turck.

Even closer... it is an 80 liter tank, so 80/3.785= 21.136 gallons!

The gauge has a reserve built in as well... below the first 1/4 tank.

At 3/4 tank line, you are close to right on, down 5 gallons (vs. 5.25)
At 1/2 tank line, you are only down 9 gallons (vs. 10.5)
At 1/4 tank line, you are only down 13 gallons (vs. 15.75) with 8 gallons still.
When the E Light comes on, you are down 17 gallons (4 still in tank)
At the E line, you still have about 2.5 gallons in the tank.
