Im guessing its stuck in a "detect update" loop. When these headunits get a usb plugged in, they will detect if there is a update on there and reboot. Since there is no update on your phones for the headunit, its just looping.
Check around the settings turn off USB debugging and see if that helps.

I just installed a joying android 10 unit and so for its awesome. I want to install a amp and sub and I was wondering how well it runs a sub with the low preout voltage. Thanks

It's ok. Not the best sub output I've seen on a deck but it'll get the job done. You should buy a male to 2 female splitter for your RCA as there is only a single rca sub out. I tried using only one of the channels on my rca cable and it was really quiet. Added the y splitter and ran both the left and right channels and it was much louder. Also, the deck has the subwoofer output lowered by default, so you'll need to increase that. I'll try and get a screenshot tomorrow.

Question for you guys: Right now I have the Android Auto music cutting out issue on my stock entune unit, does replacing with the Joying remedy that issue? Anyone with the Joying having audio cutting out while at any time? Thanks! Mine is on order and expected later this month.

I'd be hesitant to get a joying unit if you're wanting android auto. First off it's wired only, and with mine as soon as I plug my phone in it crashes the unit. I've just been tethering my phone to the joying unit for maps and data, and playing music via bluetooth

Yeah I've read the quirks that come with the android auto app on the Joying. I'm actually waiting to receive the aawireless adapter from indiegogo which will make it wireless; I'm hoping that the Joying and it play nice together. I'm def not opposed to using the standard Android apps either.

That's a cool unit. Hopefully aawireless can pull that off. I need wireless android auto because the joying does not supply enough amperage to charge your phone worth a damn.

I recently saw somewhere online (either here or Reddit) that a guy was able to make his USB port that does Android auto put out more power, enough to actually charge his phone. I'm electricity dumb, so I have no idea how he did it, but I remember thinking it was something that should come standard.

I'll report back once my Joying is installed and have tested it with the aawireless.

So I threw up a thread over here Head Unit compatible with OEM Audio Plus system before finding this thread. Has anyone with an OEM Audio Plus
installed the Joying unit? I'm primarily curious if the connectors would match up with the factory style harness (OEM A+ "quick sync" harness) that runs to the amp under the seat. My audio is great as is - but the 2015 built head unit is using a map card from 2015 and well, Entune just sucks. Sure it's fast, but that's the only thing it has going for it! Lol. Thanks!

Oh, and is there anything that can allow the factory GPS antenna and/or mic to work with the Joying? Or just run the ones it comes with and call it a day?

If you want to run android auto, you can just run android on the headunit. No need to emulate android with android here. Just tether your phones internet to the headunit and use whatever app you listen to music right on the headunit.

The joying unit plugs right into the factory harness, so it should work just fine with the OEM+ systems harness. But depending on what OEM+ did to the audio curve, it may not sound that great since it was designed for the factory headunits audio output.

You can use the factory GPS antenna, there is a SMA to toyota adapter online that allows it to work. The mic you cant use the OEM mic as its amped, but most people say the Joying mic (even the one on the faceplate) is better anyhow.

Which I'm totally fine with doing, but the main reason for my question is I'd like to know if replacing the head unit with the Joying will get rid of the music skip/stutter that exists on the stock head unit (that I only experience in Android Auto). Thanks!

It should, but if it doesnt then the problem is your phone or cable.

Yeah, I've been following this thread (among others) that covers this issue, so it's def not just me: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/android-auto-music-stuttering.680150/

I've tried USB 3.1 high data transfer cables of varying lengths, and other Android devices with the same result.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread, just hoping this head unit fixes it! Thx!

Awesome, thanks for that reply! I may just use the built in GPS module and if it can't reliably pick up enough sattelites I'll try the OEM one with adapter. Just placed the order for one on Amazon!

Curious though, has anyone thrown a cheap prepaid data SIM in theirs so it's always on data connection? Or just sticking to hot spot from the phone or using Car Play?
I thought about it but, it seems most of the main bands for use here in the US are NOT supported, seems kind of useless?

    upload_2021-6-14_12-49-57.jpg

I'm a Verizon guy and without 13 or 66, I don't think it would be useable. AT&T is the only other one that works where I live, and it's even worse off bands wise. Yikes.

I have. I threw a google fi sim and mine and it's not great. The bands definitely limit which networks it'll connect to, but it's certainly better than nothing. I do like that I can track my truck that way, if it were to get stolen or something.

New problem....I started using a flash drive to load my music on and I plug it in the back of the unit. It works great, however, the Joying-equipped music application does not allow me to sort by the Artist, only the Album name. When I view the flash drive on the computer, they are separated by artist. What gives?

Also, I've tried downloading other music launchers...none of them will recognize what is on the flash drive. Any recommendations?

PowerAmp? Used it since 2010 on my HTC Incredible and haven’t stopped since. Haven’t used it on a head unit but the interface scales nicely on a Nexus 7” tablet.

Full support for SD and external storage. And themes.
