I like the Maverick but am afraid to buy it because it is a Ford.
I am looking at a new cars and saw the Santa Cruz is coming out soon but again why could it be a Toyota or Mazda version and priced like that?
It would be perfect for what I need but I will probably stick with the Mazda CX5 we have decided on.
I worked at a Ford dealership in the service department last year and saw enough crap being pulled to know I will never buy a Ford even if I do like the Maverick.

Hopefully Ford will sell a butt ton of these and eat into Tacoma sales for them to put one out themselves. I really hope Ford and other companies get more of the marketshare so that Toyota has to do more to compete, both in pricing and features.

I think if Toyota spent money to compete with the Maverick. The 4th gen Tacoma won't be available until sometime after 2030.

Idk the more I see it the more I hope it fits two car seats, my wife is pretty excited about it too… I really can’t complain, if it had air conditioned seats as an option on the base model I would be waiving money at them for my deposit.

Lol yeah you’re right. Well I hope that even though the Maverick is in a different segment it can take some sales from the Tacoma and so still lead to a more competative Tacoma.

We’d merely pile 4 NCOs in the cab (with the A/C) and 4 Airmen in the bed…because everyone knows that junior enlisted are cargo.

The Maverick will probably take a lot of sales from many different segments including the Tacoma. Yes, more market pressure on Toyota should produce a better Tacoma. With what will probably have a higher price tag.

Not so, a lot of 1/2 tons are hitting payload ratings that used to be 3/4 ton territory:

I still have the truck. I just get metal delivered now.

It's been a few years since I had bundles of tubing on it, so pictures of that are on my old phone. The other pictures I have are pretty terrible so I should probably get some new ones.
