1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

You guys have central AC or no? I can't imagine living out here without it, though I did live in a couple apartments during college that only had window units. Those summers were fucking awful. Then again it probably gets a lot hotter here for longer.

 

He tries to eat his hair as he's being brushed. Never seen him tired though.

 

I do. my system is 20 years old and it struggles to keep the indoor temp down. It ends up running non-stop all day when the weather is above high 80s. I dread its death and the cost of replacing it haha.

 

Yeah I can tolerate heat indoors during the day but when you're trying to sleep, it's the worst. I can only get so naked

Is it getting hot down there already? Last night it was in the low 40s up here. I had to run the heater again. By next Wednesday it's suposed to be almost 90.

 

I had so many sleepless nights in Houston and Oklahoma... my apartment build's AC went out at the start of the summer and it was miserable, I ended up crashing at my buddy's place a lot... plus we were there most nights of the week partying anyways haha


I was laying in bed awake one night in houston when I heard a scuttle on the floor. I reached over and turned on the light and there was a fucking HUGE cockroach that had wedged its way under the door didn't make me sleep any better, that's for sure.

 

Well we've had a few days here and there, but summer hasn't hit full swing yet. Usually doesn't until July - Oct. Been low 80s lately, but next week we have a few triple digit days so that will be fun.

I'm just glad I finally got my truck's AC fixed.

 

Is that from the 1 storm we got back in January?

 

Yeah, definitely something to celebrate haha. Driving to/from work on a hot day without A/C is especially wearing

I'm spoiled with a short 12min or so commute to/from work but yeah, during peak summer even when I head out at 5pm it'll be well over 100˚

Or if I have to go out to get lunch at around 1pm, that fucking sucks with no AC in your vehicle.

 

That was the last time I was up in Tahoe during winter, I remember the constant storms the entire time. Woke up one morning to my truck buried in the hotel parking lot, that was fun.

That was a good season. We haven't had anything like it the last 2 years. Where did you stay when you were up here?

 

It was in 2019, just went back and looked at my pics. I forget the name of the place, it was a timeshare that we were gifted for a few days from one of my wife's family friends after our wedding. Turned out to be a tiny ass hotel room though lol. But it was free, so I'm not really complaining. She's even offered it to us again so we'll have to take her up on it sometime.

Was on the southwest end of the lake iirc, CA side.

This was my truck the first morning we were there after being parked for maybe 8 hours.

 

It was the last time my 4runner had a 22R.
