I can vouch for that! I had them on before bumper and winch and it was stiff, def need the weight for the 881s.

Just put my lift on last night. 880s up front and Dakar’s without the extra leaf in the back. Got a little more rake than I hoped for. Hoping the leaf springs will settle.

My Dakars settled for sure. In fact they have settled to the point that I plan to add the extra leaf eventually. But I have lots of rough miles with lots of weight in the bed on them. And roughly 300# constant load.

Looks like you're in a snow state. Throw 200# of sand in the bed for a few months and they should settle.

What size tires? What setting are you Bilsteins on? I'm not looking to add any lift I just want to counteract the weight of my ARB bumper and winch.

He runs 235/85r16 (approx. 32"x9.5"). You can probably find his suspension setup in his build thread. I don't remember.

Yup.. 235/85 pizzas... and all the info is in the build page... but to sum it up, the Bilstiens are set to zero... the small lift comes from the 880s... if youre keeping the stock coils you can get lift from the Bilsteins by changing the setting... its one or the other...

If you have any other questions feel free to ask... The good folks on this forum helped me out a ton when i was researching suspension and id be happy to pass on the good will...

Hey guys. New dude here. Picked up 96 Xcab 2.7 4x4 Auto my my dad after he had it for past 13 years. Looking to get some lift.

Is there big ride difference between OME Struts vs 5100 if using them with 880 and Icon 1.5 AAL? ..... and I assume to go with 880 vs 881 even with Xcab 2.7l ?

Currently on 31 inch Falkens but they will need to be upgraded soon due to age/cracking.

Thanks! I think I've decided to try 880s and Bilsteins at the stock setting in the front. Hopefully, that will get me close to level and not give me any squat. If it does I would probably just use a small block in the rear since I have relatively new leaf packs.

Sounds good... id avoid the blocks though... you be better off adding a leaf ... not expensive and easy enough to install...

Chiming in for posterity since I had trouble finding information for regular cabs as well. I have an '04 2.7 MT 4x4 regular cab with stock front end, except that I replaced the factory "skid" with a 3/16" one from Skid Row.

I installed nitrochargers with 880 springs, Dakars/nitrochargers with extra leaf in the rear and got about 2.5" in the front initially. Still settling on 265/70R16 Terra Grapplers. Toyota got alignment in spec with stock control arms. CV angles and ball joints look OK; tried a diff drop and I didn't see a huge difference. No need for carrier bearing drop, the regular cabs have a one-piece driveshaft. The frozen alignment cams were another issue, though :(.

I wouldn't go with 881s unless you're running some serious weight in the front, or you're going to go to uniball UCAs. Just my $0.02.

OP, did you ever get your leafs to settle?

Understandable. I'm trying to get a better understanding of the timeframe in which they settle. For example if it takes years and years, I may look at other options. 6 months? totally fine with it.

5100’s or ome shocks? Which ride better with 880s?

I recently installed the 4xinnovations skid set on my single cab. It already has an ARB bumper and winch installed. Would the 880s still be the best in this situation?

    Heres your answer:
With added weight of arb bumper and skid plate it sounds like 881 is the way. But search around and read through this thread.
