    I have a recipe for Thai chicken from America's Test Kitchen that uses it as a marinade and it's fine. I can't say I love it but at least it doesn't taste soapy like I hear some say.

    Me and a buddy were fishing once...super hot outside...we decided we were fishing from daylight till dark regardless of the outcome; anyhow, we had only so many sodas and water bottles and we ran out of drinks so we decided to fill our soda bottles with lake water and drink that. We didn't get sick but I don't highly recommend it.
    Side note;
    Just before dark a buddy showed up, he had a cooler that had nothing in it but the melted ice water that was sloshing around in his cooler. Cooler water never tasted so sweet!
