An old friend who I haven't seen in person since 1984 spent two days with us this week. We were Second Lieutenants in the same section of the Army's Field Artillery Officers Basic Course at Fort Sill, OK in 1978. Colin was a Marine, I was Army. We both ended up back at Fort Sill as instructors in the Field Artillery School 4 years later. We caught up on our life's experiences, shot some WWII vintage rifles, he introduced me to geocaching, drank some beer and bourbon and laughed...a lot.

 

I've had Hank for a week today.

It’s great. It fits the back seat better than the other one I had originally but my dog chewed up the headrest straps when he was a pup, which was a cheaper brand. Wife has the hammock version in her Highlander which she seems to like. I can get 50% off on these but I’d have to ship to me and then to you. PM if you are interested

i have a saginaw m1 carbine just like that. very light and easy gun to shoot.

 

Coating the whole thing with spray on bedliner is another option.

 

Yeah but I didn't already have bedliner in my garage

 

Although I won't receive my girl until late July, she is most definitely of the Army Green varient and I cannot wait any longer. Got a snug top color match to go with it. Sheeeeiiiiit.

 

I decided to give the TRD Intake Flow Accelerator a try - 10 minutes from grabbing the ratchet and 10mm/12mm sockets, completing the install and putting the tools away. We'll see if it makes any difference.

 

And to round out the day, I added interior trim and hood scoop accents in Army Green from @TUFSKINZ . Easy install and a nice way to break up the lines a bit. I found that I needed to pull the hood scoop to apply those pieces - easy process except for the retaining clip that holds the back section of the scoop cover in place. You need to get both sides of the clip pushed in and then push up - took me a few tries to get it right.
